Q: How do you see the OPD industry in India evolving, post the downturn?

A: The downturn had made outsourcing in product space more mainstream as a lot of small product companies found it difficult to sustain operations during those times. From the service provider perspective, there is increasing focus on creating greater value for customers by not just focusing on building software but increasingly, customers are demanding help on domain side as well as product management. Also, as we go forward, the relationship models will evolve which will be more outcome-based as opposed to pure T&M.

Q:What is GlobalLogic's edge with respect to your Competition?

A: Globallogic's biggest edge is being able to serve customers from different geographies (i.e. from India, China, Ukraine or Latin America) and it has a great culture which is very hard for competition to imitate.

Q:Any plans to increase your share in the domestic Indian software market?

A: Globallogic is focused on Indian software market. Close to 10% of Globallogic revenue is from domestic market and we are making investments to increase that share. As a step in that direction, we have recently hired Ajmal Noorani as Chief of International Business

Q:What makes GlobalLogic an attractive option for Start Ups?

Start-up are able to build their teams in cost-effective locations (such as India, Ukraine, China or Latin America) without actually having to set-up operations of their own. Secondly, Globallogic provides product-company like culture which is an essential ingredient coupled with the focus on Agile methodology. These factors make Globallogic quite attractive for start-ups.

Q:Going forward, what will be the growth drivers for your company and where do you see GlobalLogic in the next Five to ten years?

A: Growth drivers would be a movement up the value chain through increasing focus on domain, as well as increasing focus on working with mid-size to large product companies. We see Globallogic as a clear leader in OPD space a few years from now with significant presence not only in US but also in Europe and Asia Pacific region. From delivery centers perspective, we have sizeable presence in India and China  and I see that in the next few years, our delivery centers would have grown in China and Latin America as well.

Q:GlobalLogic has been successful in acquiring some key and large clients over the quarter; what would you attribute the success to? Please quantify the same as well?

A: This success can be attributed to a single-minded focus on working with large customers which entailed changing the complete business model to accommodate the needs of these customers, which we refer to as Product engineering Labs (PEL).
