Description:
Avid is looking for a talented C++ SW Developer to work on exciting improvements to our Media Composer | Distributed Processing product. The candidate will have an opportunity to contribute to workflows involving Media Composer, Avid’s flagship professional video editor, and work directly with high-profile broadcasting engineers. Avid’s products are used in the most recognizable films and TV shows streamed and broadcast around the world. The Distributed Processing Team builds distributed video and audio processing services for professional editing workflows.
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering or Math
- At least 1 year of professional software development experience
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented design and development in C++
- Client/Server programming experience desired
- Knowledge of JSON and JSON Schema desired
- Knowledge of JavaScript is highly desired
- Comfort working in a multi-site distributed team using Agile/Scrum
- Creative and innovative mindset
- Fluent in English
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and implement high-quality software in C++ and Python
- Program on Linux, Windows and macOS operating systems
- Design and implement automation to accompany all features
- Communicate clearly in writing and in person to the wider engineering organization
- Participate in daily stand-up scrum meetings to share progress and obstacles
