Description:
We are looking for a DevOps & Data Migration Engineer who will become a part of the team working on Cloud Migration from Wealth Private Cloud to AWS. There are three applications/platforms in the scope of the migration:
eBanking Application
OpenShift – Containerised Architecture – Lift & Shift to AWS
Database – managed Oracle DB (will continue to use in target state) – less than 1TB
Identity & Access Management (IAM) Platform – Ping Identity
Wealth dedicated Ping stack in Wealth private cloud – containerised deployment.
API Platform (Tyk)
Solution Design created & pilot in AWS underway – Tyk API Gateway (not Natwest Group instance) – target end state is to transition to AWS Native API Platform.
Database Platform – Aurora PostgreSQL – ~1.5TB

Requirements:
- Solid Cloud AWS experience with a focus on AWS Serverless
- Strong experience in implementing DevOps on the AWS platform
- Expertise in IaC & DevOps to build out environments in AWS
- Leverage ETL or ELT to build scalable data pipelines
- Experience of building and operationalising large-scale enterprise data solutions using AWS native services such as Aurora PostgreSQL
- English at an advanced level (read/written/spoken)
- Ability to take part in day-to-day communication and lead a conversation with other stakeholders
Job Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for developing modern data solutions on AWS, migrating and modernising on-prem data solutions to AWS
- Extracting, loading, transforming, cleaning, and validating data
- Use DevOps tools and orchestration tools to automate pipeline execution
- Support current state analysis and work with solution architects to build target state architecture
- Provide input into the creation of client solution designs, working collaboratively with the Client, AWS (where appropriate), and engineering team to create a design that meets client standards, and adheres to AWS best practice
- Take part in the creation and refinement of user stories, working collaboratively with the stakeholders and analysts to create stories that articulate the required outcomes and that can be delivered within the engagement parameters
- Maintain existing codebase while providing new functionalities and adapting best standards
- Document standard operating procedures
- Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the management team
