Description:
Our Client is one of the leading providers of a comprehensive program that enables businesses to secure brand value and thrive commercially. They serve over 5000 clients on five continents!
The project we are working on is the largest technology transformation for the Client at the moment. It consists of Engineering and Data Science functions, with 180 people globally, aligned to Trademark Solutions or Online Brand Protection Business Units. Brand Protection has large-scale web crawling and workflow web applications (including browser plugins). The platform is tracking millions of product listings each day and a dataset in excess of 150TB.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in Java, with a good understanding of its ecosystems
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
- Experience with multi-threading and synchronization mechanisms in Java
- Understanding of client/server communication
- Experience in creating REST API clients
- Familiarity with Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP)
- Experience with unit-tests and test-driven development in Java
- Familiarity with build tools (Maven)
- Familiarity with code obfuscation tools for Java
- Experience in developing Java desktop applications on Windows platform would be a plus
- Agile development practices and continuous improvement
- Understanding Jira and Confluence
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a similar field
Beneficial Skills & Experience:
- Java libraries and tools such as Jersey 2.x, Jackson, Jetty Server, Guava, Mockito, Maven, ProGuard
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver scalable and reliable human-assisted crawler tools
- Continuously automate, to increase coverage and reduce manual maintenance effort
- Deliver awesome software on time
- Engineer solutions to speed up data collection, increase scale and optimize for cost
- Adapt and evolve the crawler tools to accommodate the needs of the business
- Fulfill Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment pipelines, Infrastructure as code, and Zero-downtime release processes
- Deliver quality code and create full documentation, including flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code, for all developed solutions
- Share knowledge, guide the teams and the wider Corsearch engineering community
