Description
Our Client is a transnational company that owns numerous products within the Finance domain. One of the largest, B2B electronic payment networks, is integrating at the moment with several other Banking products belonging to the Client. We are looking for Database Engineer to work with the team and help to support new and existing implementations of Oracle Databases. Supporting the planning and design functions for upgrades to existing services and the deployment of new.
We are a young and enthusiastic team, tightly integrated with the Customer and empowered for business and technical decisions. We support flexibility with working hours and always find time to have some fun.
Requirements
Understanding of database structures, theories, principles and practices
3+ years of experience as an Oracle database administrator
Working technical experience with configuring and supporting database systems
Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience (indexing, statistics and query optimizer)
Hands-on experience with AWR reports reviews and fine-tuning SQL Queries
Awareness of data processing flowcharting, relational and dimensional data modeling as well as translation of logical models into physical models
Hands-on experience with Oracle 12c in a Linux/Unix environment
Experience with shell scripting skills (e.g. Python and Bash)
Familiarity with Jenkins and Puppet
Familiarity with and interest in PostgreSQL databases
Job Responsibilities
The candidate will work very closely and in deep collaboration with the software development and infrastructure teams to provide database expertise for highly integrated hosted software systems based on Linux, Oracle and WebLogic. technologies.
Support multiple databases of high complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of the data
Provide production support and ensure high availability including troubleshooting databases accessibility, availability or operability problems
Monitor transactions between application systems and the database for the purpose of identifying and improving inefficiencies
Work with our development teams to drive best practice in database structure design, access, coding standards and optimisations
Implement and maintain redundant systems, policies and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets
Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
Create models for new database development and/or changes to existing ones
Install and configure database components and ensure access, consistency and integrity
Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for all database systems
Plan and coordinate data migrations to all database environments
Implement and maintain change control and testing processes for database modifications
Interface with Development and support application release deployments
Provide end-user support for database related requests (reports, data changes, etc.)
Implement appropriate end-user database access controls, best practices and perform transaction and security audits
