Description:
The client is a world-leading provider of telecommunication solutions to mobile & fixed network operators.
GlobalLogic has a long and very successful partnership with this Company started back in 2002. As an extension, a team was built that is responsible for a specific area – maintenance of products that are utilized by key US telecom operators.
Requirements:
At least 2 years of hands-on experience with the following technologies:
– C
– IMS Database Administration (SYSGEN, ACBGEN, transaction processing, etc.)
– Db2 Database Administration (SQL, RUNSTATS, binds, grants, REORG, etc.)
– z/OS Utilities
Good level of verbal and written communication in English;
Ability to work effectively in a team and with international clients.
Nice to have:
– PL/I
– JCL
– Unix/Shell script
– Unix tools (vi, sed, awk, make)
– Problem-solving and debugging
– Telecom experience
Job Responsibilities:
- Knowledge acquisition: learn assigned product to smallest details, become an expert in the product;
- Work as part of a team in a mainframe environment;
- Cooperate with 1st tier support on resolving issues;
- Product installation and transition execution and documentation.
- Design, modify, and implement software changes from functional and system design specifications;
- Review, evaluate, and analyze software design and specifications;
- Work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if the application fit specifications and technical requirements;
- Identify and fix bugs, devise solutions to the problems;
- Maintain code quality, organization, and automatization;
- Maintain the developed software efficiently through a solid knowledge of the software lifecycle.
