Description

Harmonic is seeking a skilled and experienced Atlassian Administrator and Collaboration Tools engineer to oversee the migration of our corporate Confluence, Jira and Slack environments. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth transition of our Atlassian tools to a new SAAS environment and will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our Slack and Atlassian platforms to facilitate seamless collaboration across corporate teams. The position is 100% remote and under the Snr IT infrastructure director.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience, dedicated to Atlassian Confluence / Jira and ideally Slack management.

You will need to have in-depth knowledge of:

  • Proven experience with Atlassian products, especially in administrating and migrating;
  • Hands-on experience managing Slack, including integration with other tools;
  • Strong understanding of workflows, permission schemes, and user management;
  • Experience and knowledge of best practices for data migration;
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to provide end-user support;
  • Strong communication skills to train and guide users;
  • Ability to work independently.

Job Responsibilities

Atlassian Migration & Administration:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the migration of existing Confluence and Jira environments to a new corporate infrastructure.
  • Ensure data integrity, minimize downtime, and address any issues that arise.
  • Configure and customize Jira and Confluence.
  • Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues.

Slack Management:

  • Administer and maintain the Slack workspace.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for Slack usage.
  • Monitor the health and performance of Slack.
  • Integrate Slack with other tools and services.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Provide training and support to end-users on best practices.
  • Work closely with IT and other departments to understand collaboration needs and improve system configurations accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to system configuration.

Other Skills

  • Adaptability and diplomacy, strong analytical skills and efficient problem-solving.
  • Result-oriented given a dedicated timeline/calendar.
  • Good level of English (read/written/spoken).
  • Knowledge of ITIL (change management process) would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation to streamline administrative tasks in Jira, Confluence, and Slack.
  • Experience with integrating collaboration tools into broader IT infrastructure (e.g., single sign-on, directory services).
  • Relevant courses in Atlassian tools or Slack administration.
