Description:
Our customer is a free, ad-supported Video on Demand (VOD) service that, in addition to on-demand options, primarily distributes its content through digital linear channels designed to emulate the experience of traditional broadcast programming.
The team is building a new video processing solution to fulfill the requirements of the growing OTT platform.
Requirements:
As an individual contributor, you will need to provide proven expertise in the following areas:
Must have skills:
- 1+ years of commercial engineering experience
-
intermediate experience with compiled language GoLang for backend web applications
Having additional knowledge/experience with Java, NodeJS, C++ will be a plus.

Strong knowledge of Databases
-
Practical experience with Git, Docker
-
Conversational/writing English skills
Experience with at least 1 year of the following would be a great plus:

Knowledge of AWS services

Knowledge/experience with media, understanding of streaming technologies

Knowledge of Microservices Architecture
Job Responsibilities:
As a Transcode – Software Engineer, you will be expected to contribute with a team of engineers to support an industry-leading Over-the-Top (OTT) software platform.
You will attend regular sprint meetings, and work closely with other engineers to fix bugs, work on technical debt, and design & implement features. In this role, you will be considered to be 100% autonomous for day-to-day work.
Furthermore, you will be mentored by an engineer. This mentoring will come in the form of pair programming, “onboarding buddy”, etc.
