Description

This role is critical for ensuring the continued success of our ongoing projects and engineering initiatives. The leader will step into a leadership position for established projects and teams, working closely with existing members and stakeholders to maintain momentum and achieve project milestones. This involves direct oversight of project delivery, managing large teams of engineers, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to assume leadership of projects and engineering teams within our healthcare division. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading both project and engineering teams, overseeing project execution, managing stakeholder expectations, and guiding teams to achieve defined objectives within a fast-paced and regulated environment. This role requires a proven ability to drive project excellence, foster team growth, navigate complex technical landscapes, and manage large engineering teams.

Qualifications

 

Professional Experience:

  • 10+ years of project management experience. Experience from working in an international, cross-cultural environment with international clients is a must
  • Proven track record of delivering complex and intercultural projects on time and within budget

 

Language Skills:

  • High proficiency/fluency in English is required. Proficiency in other languages is a merit

 

Key Competencies:

  • Proven strong leadership skills from a regulated domain
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to navigate cultural nuances
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to build consensus, manage conflict diplomatically, and foster collaboration across diverse cultural teams

 

Key skills – Must Have

 

  • Certified PMP or equivalent Project Management Certification
  • Project Management experience in Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid projects
  • Experience from working in an international, cross-cultural environment with international clients
  • Team Leadership & Development (including large teams)

  • Project & Process Management
  • Problem-Solving Abilities (Quick and effective)

Key skills – Nice to Have

 

  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., Healthcare, Finance, Automotive)
  • Post-graduate degree in Business Administration, or a related field combined with project management education
  • Experience with specific project management software/tools

Job responsibilities

Project Management & Execution:

 

  • Overseeing the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure, ensuring delivery against scope, quality, and client expectations
  • Translating organizational strategic goals into actionable items and priorities for project teams
  • Effectively handling escalations and crisis management within project contexts

 

Team Leadership & Development

 

  • Leading and managing project and engineering teams, ensuring optimal performance, adherence to project timelines, and budgets
  • Nurturing and developing project team members and subordinate management teams, including creating and implementing Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
  • Taking over leadership of existing projects and engineering teams, ensuring a smooth and effective transition of responsibilities and the successful delivery of assigned projects
  • Facilitating knowledge sharing and best practices within assigned project portfolios

 

Stakeholder, Client & Business Management

 

  • Cultivating excellent business communication with internal and external stakeholders, including possessing a strong grasp of cultural differences and adapting communication styles accordingly
  • The ability to travel internationally for project meetings and client engagements, and driving tough negotiations
  • Contributing to pre-sale and upsell activities by providing expert project insights and actively supporting business growth initiatives, including kicking off projects with new customers and supporting the pre-sales team

 

Regulatory & Quality Compliance

 

  • Managing projects under established Quality Management Systems and ensuring compliance with relevant quality standards, particularly in the regulated healthcare domain (Medtech, life science & pharma)
