Description:
Our Client is one of the leading providers of a comprehensive program that enables businesses to secure brand value and thrive commercially. They serve over 5000 clients on five continents!
The project we are working on is the largest technology transformation for the Client at the moment. It consists of Engineering and Data Science functions, with 180 people globally, aligned to Trademark Solutions or Online Brand Protection Business Units. Brand Protection has large-scale web crawling and workflow web applications (including browser plugins). The platform is tracking millions of product listings each day and a dataset in excess of 150TB.
Requirements:
- 3+ yrs experience with Scala backend development outside of the Play framework
- Experience from Slick and/or http4s libraries
- Very good understanding of web applications and RESTful micro service / web service development
- Experience with Elastic Search preferred
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases (Postgresql in use)
- Able to use Linux command line
- In-depth experience with the software development lifecycle and working in Agile teams
- In-depth experience with code repositories such as git, including branching and merging flows
- Fluent in both verbal and written English
- Teamwork and customer communication skills
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
- Understanding React, TypeScript, and CSS is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Work in an agile Kanban team
- Plan and design and implement software applications, components, and interfaces.
- Perform pair programming and pull request reviews
- Mentor more junior backend developers
