Description:
The client develops, manufactures, and markets the only active robotic surgical systems for orthopedic surgery.

The system’s main functionality is the creation of a 3D representation of the bone, helping the surgeons plan the surgery and the connectivity between the different systems. The company was incorporated in 2000 and is based in Fremont, California.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
▪ 6+ years with cloud service providers, ideally with backend development expertise
▪ Experience with Lambdas, AppSync, Route53, Docker, ECR, Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, CodePipeline and CodeBuild, Cognito, CloudWatch and CloudTrail
▪ Understanding AWS security configuration best practices, and methods for verifying secure configurations
▪ Experience writing infrastructure as code with AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit) and CloudFormation
▪ Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
▪ Good understanding of Appsync and GraphQL APIs
▪ Experience with Cognito User Pools and user management, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
▪ Experience with deploying web applications
▪ Experience with Python development
▪ Experience with Docker and Postgres
▪ Experience with AWS
▪ Motivation to create reusable, scalable, and clean code
▪ Excellent communication and great ability to collaborate
Preferred Qualifications
▪ 1-3 years of experience in the medical device industry or related field
▪ Experience with Server, Microservices, and Serverless applications
▪ Experience with Linux, git, and CI/CD
▪ Experience in iterative development
▪ Experience with implementing security in the cloud
Responsibilities:
The client is looking for a Software Engineer who specializes in cloud infrastructure development to participate in bringing their surgical planning system to the next level.
The engineer will be working closely with the client’s team. The role may include the following additional responsibilities:
▪ Lead in the development of cloud infrastructure and applications for Surgeons and Case Planners to optimize and improve their workflow.
▪ Support our application into production, including establishing backup and restore strategy, Disaster, and Recovery, Monitoring and Logging.
▪ Help the team design, develop, and deliver meaningful back-end feature sets:
– Introduce an observer/subscription mechanism in the application, to make the Data in the Frontend application more up-to-date, and prevent it from pulling the backend
– Configuration, updates, and deployment of docker containers.
– Improve Backend/Lambdas development efficiency
– Improve Audit trail for medical devices
– Improve Golang database unit tests
▪ Actively contribute to improving our systems and evolving our infrastructure: flawless CI/CD pipelines, storage management, automation with infrastructure as code, and reliability on AWS
▪ Deploy web-enabled technologies on cloud service providers in a secure and regulated environment.
