Description:
People.
1. USA: owner, top management, PM, PO, Acrh, several full SCRUM teams.
2. Ukraine: PM, PPOs (1 per SCRUM team), Arch, 4 SCRUM teams, DevOps, RM, QA Leads (MQA & AQA). The GL team counts 60 people and keeps growing.
Product.
US-based leader in automated car wash systems. Project is aimed towards the development of a brand new hybrid platform that is aimed to replace current legacy solutions and open the new business potential for the client. We develop a POS solution that allows providing attended (employee) and unattended (customer) tunnel car washing service. There are two labs:
1. One in USA (Ohio)
2. One in Ukraine (Lviv)
Both support US and Canadian market. One hardware set includes several points on sale, a set of different sensors, readers and cameras, payment terminals, servers, automatic gates.
The Ukrainian team develops a PWA application and a hybrid web application (.Net & Angular) that operates on hardware & cloud and supports full customer flow: from customer recognition or account creation, to sale, to directing their car to tunnel. All embedded development is on the client’s side. Some teams have hardware dependencies based on the areas of the application they work with, meaning office presence is necessary.
Flow.
SCRUM, 2 week sprints, releases every 3 weeks. Sprints include mandatory daily stand-ups, grooming, planning, demo and retro sessions.
QA Team.
1. MQA. Each SCRUM team has their own MQA engineers, 2-4 engineers per team of different seniority, all managed by one MQA Lead. Currently there are 14 MQA engineers on the product. Ukrainian and USA locations work independently and rarely interact with each other.
2. AQA. AQA engineers are not assigned to a specific SCRUM team and operate separately, targeting the most prioritized areas of the application. Automated tests are integrated into most QA processes. There are 7 AQA engineers on the product.
Requirements:
- Ability to visit Lviv office is a must (due to hardware dependency of the product)
- 4+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably on different products
- Confident with MsSQL, PostgreSQL, REST API (Postman, jMeter, Swagger), Octopus (or other CI/CD), understanding of GIT, Azure DevOps experience would be a plus
- B2 spoken and written English is a must
- Good multitasking skills
- Experience in direct communication with foreign customers and work with cross-country multicultural teams
- Good understanding of grooming, planning and work estimation processes
- Deep understanding of Agile family frameworks
Responsibilities:
We’re looking for an experienced professional, a very proactive ‘universal soldier’ that will be switching between different SCRUM teams on a sprint-by-sprint basis depending on demand and workload of those teams. In those teams that person will:
- Actively participate in team grooming & plannings
- Generate & execute test cases, analyze & report results
- Create & update product documentation
- Report bugs and errors to development teams
- Collaborate with foreign agents on various systems parts
- Conduct sprint demo sessions
- Collaborate with other Manual QA engineers and AQA team
- Participate in background QA activities: process design, various brainstorming sessions, strategy improvements etc.
