Description
Harmonic is a leading provider of innovative broadband solutions that deliver video, voice, and data to communications providers around the world. GL team participates in the development and QA of several generations of these solutions.
The CableOS project is about developing the new software-based network equipment which provides access to Internet/IPTV/VoIP services utilizing a combination of general purpose Hardware, software, and special purpose hardware.
It is an innovative solution for Internet Service Providers which will allow to get rid of the existing HW equipment and to migrate to the cloud, saving customers the enormous expenses for the support of huge number of hardware network equipment. Currently, there are no competitors to this project in the world and Customer offers the opportunity to be at the beginning of the rapid development of the product and the opportunity to take their place in a fast-paced engineering team.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant commercial experience;
- B.Sc. in computer science or Electricity Engineering or equivalent;
- Linux User-space application development (C/C++, IPC, sockets, …);
- Linux Kernel-space or kernel driver development experience is a plus;
- Knowledge of L2, L3 network protocols;
- Intermediate and above English (read/write/speak) for communication with the remote teams and subject matter experts.
Preferences
- Experience with Packet Processors;
- Experience with MAC/PHY;
- MACSec, OpenSSL knowledge;
- PCB development or schematics reading;
- Python, C++/Boost-Asio.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop network-oriented applications (Linux, userspace) which interact with packet switching hardware and by that implement l2,l3 network protocols;
- Design and develop solutions to integrate various hw and sw components via various buses and protocols (I2C, SPI, MDIO, PCI);
- Design and implement new modules and features, as well as evolve existing ones;
- Regular communication with the remote team.
