GlobalLogic Foundation organizes Annual Sports Day in Nagpur

NAGPUR, India — January 25, 2020 – On the eve of Republic day, GlobalLogic Foundation, the CSR arm of GlobalLogic, hosted its annual Sports Day at Sanskrutik Sabhagrih in Nagpur for employees, schools, and kids associated with them. This initiative aims to encourage kids to participate in athletics and games which play a vital role in their holistic growth. Via this event, the foundation aims at fostering the kids’ physical, social, and emotional health.

The 4^th Annual Sports Day marks a milestone for GlobalLogic India, as it witnessed a participation of over 800 people, reinstating their commitment to kid’s physical, social and emotional health. This initiative is an extension of GlobalLogic Foundation’s focus on child education and the company’s commitment to providing basic and remedial education to underprivileged children. GlobalLogic Foundation currently impacts the lives of over 5000 kids across India.

The event witnessed GlobalLogic Foundation school children engaging with exciting sports and recreational activities including Sprint Races, Cross-fit, Fun races, Kho-Kho, Football – Penalty strike, Mini Cricket amongst others. The Sports Meet held today was attended by participating schools including Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Raje Raghuji Nagar Madhyamik Vidyalaya, and GlobalLogic employees.

Sports Day began with a vibrant inaugural ceremony, followed by a day full of engaging sports activities. Many eye-catching, captivating displays and activities were lined up, all of which were wholeheartedly enjoyed and appreciated by the kids and employees. The initiative filled the hearts of the audience with the spirit of sportsmanship and unity.

Vikram Puranik, Vice President, Engineering and Centre Head GlobalLogic Nagpur inaugurated the ceremony with a welcome note to the participating schools. “With this sports meet, we aim to provide our children with a platform to focus on fitness and wellbeing. Playing sports helps in balanced mental and physical growth and it teaches vital life skills to children such as teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and patience. It gives me immense pleasure to see all of them participating in and enjoying today’s event in large numbers.”

The exciting day was later concluded with a prize distribution ceremony for the winners. GlobalLogic foundation organizes Annual ports Day for students across GlobalLogic offices including Noida, Gurgaon (NCR), Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. The organization also shared their gratitude for being able to be a part of such initiatives that promote societal well-being and improve lives through social cause.
