GlobalLogic and Asensus Surgical (Part of KARL STORZ) Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance Next-Generation Robotic Surgery Solutions

Collaboration leverages global engineering scale, advanced AI, and medical device accelerators to shape the future of intelligent surgical care.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – October 16, 2025 – GlobalLogic Inc., a Hitachi Group company and leader in digital engineering, today announced a strategic, long-term engineering partnership with Asensus Surgical, Inc. (Part of KARL STORZ), a global leader in performance-guided surgery. The collaboration focuses on developing LUNA™, Asensus Surgical’s next-generation robotic surgery system, and enhancing its portfolio of intelligent surgical platforms through advanced AI, computer vision, and machine learning. As Asensus Surgical’s strategic engineering partner, GlobalLogic will support multiple aspects of product development, software engineering, robotics systems integration, and test automation. This partnership expands on the companies’ shared vision to transform surgical care through intelligent, connected technology. 

A key part of this effort includes the establishment of a new development lab in Kraków, Poland. This facility will handle comprehensive Verification and Validation (V&V) for medical devices, with a focus on advanced test automation. By replicating the Asensus Surgical engineering environment, the lab will enable seamless collaboration and rapid testing – enabling precision, reliability, and compliance at every stage. This new location also provides access to a wealth of world-class talent and medical technology expertise, while leveraging GlobalLogic’s global delivery network across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

The partnership also integrates GlobalLogic’s proprietary test accelerator, DeviceSure. This solution will help bring speed, precision, and regulatory compliance to the validation of intelligent robotic surgery devices. Enhanced real-time surgical insights, data analytics, and computer vision algorithms will drive innovation for both current and next-generation platforms through this collaboration.
