2 professionals are selected from GlobalLogic. Amplifying voices of engineers and developers driving AI Agent Development and AI Application in OT (Operational Technology) Domains

Tokyo, July 16, 2025 – Hitachi, Ltd. today announced that it appointed a new group of “AI Ambassadors,” evolving from the “GenAI Ambassadors” who have been active since January 2025, in response to the rapid advancement of AI technologies and shifting needs and trends. The newly appointed 21 members represent a diverse range of talent—from seasoned CTOs at overseas group companies to rising young engineers. Each ambassador will serve as a messenger who communicates the value and potential of AI in a timely manner, drawing from their own experience in leading business transformation, solving complex challenges, and driving innovation.

This transition to “AI Ambassadors” reflects the rapid evolution of AI technologies and the deepening of their use cases—from GenAI (generative AI) to AI agents, and further into physical AI. Hitachi has accumulated over 1,000 use cases of generative AI applications and, based on the technologies and know-how gained, has also built a solid track record in the development and application of AI agents.

Moreover, as exemplified by the digital asset management platform “HMAX” for railway operators, Hitachi is also achieving results in its efforts toward physical AI, which combines mission-critical assets with advanced digital technologies such as AI to drive business transformation.

In this context, Hitachi has selected a diverse group of members from both Japan and the globe, including engineers promoting AI agent development and AI application in OT (control and operations) domains, as well as consultants and sales professionals who support the advanced use of such technologies.

Globally, AI experts and evangelists at the CTO level have been appointed from group companies such as Hitachi Vantara, Hitachi Digital Services, and GlobalLogic.

Sanjeev Azad, Chief Technology Officer (APAC) and Chief Innovation Leader, and Vanina Delobelle, Principal, Business Strategy & Design are selected from GlobalLogic. Strengthened by the strategic inclusion of those global professionals, the newly expanded team of 37 “AI Ambassadors” will serve as a bridge between Hitachi and its customers and partners, leading cutting-edge initiatives in AI development and utilization. Through both internal and external communication, they will help spark a movement around AI adoption and support the rapid implementation of best practices tailored to various challenges.

Looking ahead, with the inclusion of new members, Hitachi aims to promote the activities of the AI Ambassadors under the “One Hitachi” approach, enhancing the value delivered through AI and contributing to the realization of a Harmonized Society—one in which environment, well-being, and economic growth are in balance.

Achievements to Date and Future Activities

The “GenAI Ambassadors” appointed in January 2025 have been active as role models of AI talent who practice AI transformation themselves. They have communicated the value and potential of AI in various ways, including speaking at events and webinars, sharing information via social media and websites, and conducting workshops within the company.

Going forward, under a strengthened structure, each ambassador will continue to promote both the practice of AI transformation and communication inside and outside the company, further conveying the value and potential of AI.
