Description

As a Function Owner at GlobalLogic, you will be responsible for the development of infotainment features. You will lead the lifecycle management, coordinate development efforts, and support integration and validation activities to ensure flawless execution. Your expertise will be crucial in collaborating with cross-functional teams and partners to successfully implement world-class solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive systems, ideally in infotainment, HMI, or connectivity.
• Strong understanding of infotainment domains: media, navigation, connectivity, telephony, and display systems.
• Experience working with automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet), diagnostics, and validation tools.
• Familiarity with CarPlay / Android Auto certification processes and compliance standards.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams (software, hardware, HMI, validation, and systems engineering) and external suppliers.

Job responsibilities

FEATURE OWNERSHIP & REQUIREMENTS MANAGEMENT

• Own the functional definition and lifecycle of infotainment features within your domain.
• Collect, analyze, and document customer, business, and regulatory requirements.
• Define feature requirements, use cases, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with systems, HMI, and software teams.

DEVELOPMENT COORDINATION

• Act as the single point of contact for assigned features from concept to SOP (Start of Production).
• Coordinate implementation across internal and supplier teams, ensuring alignment with system and vehicle architecture.
• Monitor feature maturity across development phases (A/B/C samples) and support integration into prototype and production vehicles.

INTEGRATION & VALIDATION SUPPORT

• Support test case definition and validation activities, including functional testing, HMI validation, and regression testing.
• Drive issue resolution for feature-related defects and ensure closure before achievements.
• Participate in system-level reviews, FMEAs, and risk assessments.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

• Collaborate with UX/HMI teams to translate user experience goals into functional design.
• Collaborate with suppliers and partners (e.g., Apple, Google, Tier 1s) to manage technical dependencies and feature certifications (e.g., CarPlay / Android Auto compliance).
• Engage with Connected Services and Backend teams for telematics and cloud-integrated features.

LAUNCH & POST-PRODUCTION SUPPORT

• Ensure feature readiness for vehicle launches including customer clinics, line builds, and final validation.
• Provide post-launch support for software updates and OTA feature improvements.
