Discover how GlobalLogic’s AI-powered solutions helped a global software leader migrate...

GlobalLogic provides unique experience and expertise at the intersection of data, design, and engineering.
Get in touchWith over two decades of software development experience, Antoniu Nicula exemplifies the evolution from deep technical mastery to strategic consultancy. As a Senior Consultant at GlobalLogic, his work centers on architecting resilient, full-stack solutions and, crucially, mastering the complex challenge of aligning agile European development with the established, meticulous processes of our Japanese colleagues at Hitachi Information & Telecommunication Engineering, Ltd. His journey underscores that in global enterprise, process harmonization is as critical as code quality.
I started my professional journey as a junior developer in 2001 and successfully evolved into specialized senior roles like Team Leader and Software Architect. My core specialization lies in close collaboration with clients, particularly our colleagues at Hitachi Information & Telecommunication Engineering, Ltd., to deeply understand complex business requirements and translate them into robust, efficient, full-stack solutions. Furthermore, a key part of my experience has always been to lead development efforts, meticulously evaluate project costs, and ensure application stability through continuous monitoring and maintenance. The project I am currently focusing on is for a global information and communications equipment (ICT) manufacturer, a crucial collaboration between GlobalLogic CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) and GlobalLogic Japan.
The mission of the project is fundamentally aligned with the Hitachi Group Mission: to contribute to society through technology. Specifically, we are enhancing the operational resilience and efficiency of our colleagues by delivering a cloud application for remote PBX management. The solution addresses a critical, large-scale challenge in Japan: the growing lack of specialized on-site PBX technicians caused by demographic shifts. This cloud application provides a strategic mechanism for managing communications systems without reliance on shrinking local expertise, ensuring service continuity and reducing operational risks across many sites. We successfully convert traditionally complex, location-dependent PBX management tasks into a centralized, simplified digital service. This not only enhances reliability and reduces costs but also embodies the Pioneering Spirit value of Hitachi by introducing an innovative, scalable approach to managing essential infrastructure.

Our technology stack is meticulously designed for modern distributed systems, leveraging a robust cloud-native architecture centered on AWS key services to guarantee scalability, reliability, and security. The data solutions are highly available, including specialized search and data aggregation services alongside enterprise-grade relational databases. Development follows a full-stack approach, pairing powerful, performance-optimized backends with modern, reactive frontends for an optimal user experience.
The team successfully navigated two distinct, highly complex challenges. Firstly, achieving Zero-Defect Code Quality: We addressed this by reinforcing our development lifecycle with enhanced CI/CD pipeline rigor. This included implementing mandatory high-coverage automated testing, stricter static analysis tools, and empowering our colleagues through accountability to ensure continuous quality ownership. Secondly, Bridging Operational and Cultural Gaps: We overcame the complex challenge of reconciling the European development methodology with the established Japanese processes at the client. The core of our success lay in dedication, perseverance, and mutual understanding from both sides, where teamwork and collaboration were foundational to establishing a stable, shared operational rhythm.

The culture and dynamics of our immediate project team is best described as a high-performance blend of rigorous effort, intellectual depth, and mutual dedication. We combine hard and very hard work with teamwork and collaboration as an absolute necessity, fueled by intelligent people and perseverance to successfully tackle intricate technical and process hurdles within the project. Our success stems fundamentally from the powerful partnership with our client; the sustained understanding from them about the problems and challenges we face is critical, enabling us to bridge operational gaps effectively and work seamlessly as One Hitachi.
“When we started working on this solution, the goal was clear: implement all new functions for the customer release. From day one, their team was deeply involved and willing to collaborate, which made it possible to move quickly and efficiently. Our role was to use our web solution experience and Agile development methodology, and together we overcame challenges such as hard deadlines, communication barriers, and time zone differences. Thanks to the strong partnership and open communication, we achieved the first customer release on 24.09.2025. This project not only delivered outstanding outcomes but also strengthened the relationship between our teams. We truly value the trust placed in us and look forward to building on this success in future collaborations.” Gyorgy Orosz, Senior Manager,Engineering

One of the most valuable insights gained specifically from this project is the profound understanding that in a global enterprise like Hitachi, process harmonization and cultural alignment are just as critical as technical excellence for ensuring project success. While our team excels at achieving near-zero defects through rigorous engineering, the true differentiator has been mastering the art of bridging the operational and methodological gap between the agile European development style and the established, meticulous processes of our Japanese colleagues. This insight has redefined success for me: it is not just about building a flawless product, but about building a flawless, shared operational rhythm founded on dedication, perseverance, and mutual understanding.
Working on a project that integrates modern technology with the established processes of a global entity like Hitachi demands a dual focus: technical mastery and operational intelligence. Focus your learning on architectural principles for modern distributed systems and cloud-native architectures. Embrace engineering practices that drive defects to near-zero. Success requires intense focus and perseverance in the face of complex integration challenges. The most critical skill is the ability to bridge operational and cultural gaps. Learn to reconcile agile development with meticulous, formal processes. Seek to gain mutual understanding and respect for the client’s methodology, as this shared operational rhythm is the essential key to project success.
