Get in touchAt GlobalLogic, career paths are flexible, rewarding curiosity and commitment. The journey from a specialized technical role to project leadership is a powerful example of growth. For Ioana, her 14-year career in the automotive and web application for products catalog paved the way for her current role, managing a complex project in the mobility industry. Her story demonstrates how foundational skills in Quality Assurance, combined with strong leadership, can drive innovation in sustainable mobility.
I’m currently working on a project in the mobility industry, which I’ve been part of for almost four years now. My goal is to build and maintain software solutions that support e-bike systems, including back-end services, web, and desktop applications. I’ve been in IT for about 14 years, starting my career in the automotive sector as a QA engineer. This initial role gave me a solid foundation in quality, process, and product reliability. From there, I moved into web applications and gradually transitioned into leadership roles: first as QA Lead, then Scrum Master, and now supporting the Delivery Manager as a Project Manager.
Our project’s mission is fundamental: to make e-bike systems smarter, more reliable, and easier to use. The problem we solve is giving both the client company and end-users actionable insights and smooth functionality, ultimately improving the experience of urban mobility.
Our primary technology stack is robust and diverse, reflecting our need to support multiple platforms. It includes Java for back-end services and automation, React for web applications, C++ for desktop apps, and Python for scripting and automation. We also rely heavily on Docker and CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment across platforms. Our most significant recent technical challenge, and a major breakthrough for the team, is successfully bringing AI into our daily workflows to enhance our product’s capabilities.
Our project team has a very collaborative and open culture. Everyone is encouraged to share ideas, raise concerns, and take ownership of their work. By staying aligned on priorities, supporting one another, and embracing continuous learning, we’re able to constantly deliver reliable, high-quality software. This environment of mutual support is key to navigating the complexities of multi-platform development.

The key takeaway from this project is the dual growth achieved in both technical mastery and effective leadership. I built a strong foundation in Java during my time as an AQA, while also developing as a leader, learning how to guide teams effectively and deliver results in a dynamic client environment. This evolution in technical depth and people leadership has been invaluable.
If someone wants to work on a project like ours, my advice would be to stay curious and keep learning. Technology and industry move fast, so having a solid foundation in programming and system architecture is important, but being open to new tools and approaches makes all the difference.
I’d also stress that technical skills alone aren’t enough. Communication, teamwork, and problem-solving are just as important. On a complex project like ours, being able to collaborate with others, take ownership, and actively contribute to solutions is what really helps you succeed and grow.
