Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead QA Engineer with over 10 years of hands-on experience in ETL testing, SQL, and data validation. The ideal candidate will lead QA initiatives for data platforms, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and reliability across complex data pipelines, warehouses, and reporting systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to design and implement robust automation frameworks for data testing

Requirements

+ years of experience in Data/ETL Testing and Quality Assurance.

Strong expertise in SQL (complex joins, subqueries, performance tuning, stored procedures).

Extensive experience in ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS, or similar.

Hands-on experience in ETL automation frameworks (Python, Selenium, PyTest, JUnit, or custom frameworks).

Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Fact & Dimension tables, SCDs).

Experience with data validation techniques, data reconciliation, and data profiling.

Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, GCP BigQuery) is preferred.

Experience with Big Data ecosystems (Hive, Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.

Knowledge of API testing and data integration validation is advantageous.

Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Proven experience leading QA teams and managing deliverables.

Job responsibilities

Lead end-to-end QA strategy for ETL, Data Warehouse, and BI projects.

Design, develop, and maintain automated ETL testing frameworks.

Validate data transformations, mappings, and business rules across multiple source systems.

Perform complex SQL queries for data analysis, reconciliation, and validation.

Ensure data integrity between source systems, staging layers, and target systems.

Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for large-scale data platforms.

Perform data quality checks, regression testing, and performance validation.

Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, and Business Analysts to understand data flows and requirements.

Lead defect management, root cause analysis, and resolution tracking.

Mentor and guide QA team members; enforce best practices and QA standards.

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.

Work with big data technologies and cloud data platforms where applicable.
