Our client is a global Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software provider, specializing in manufacturing and distribution industries. It offers a comprehensive suite of tools to manage business operations, including financial management, supply chain management, and manufacturing execution.

Requirements

Must-Have

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a Tech Lead or Principal Engineer role.
  • Deep expertise in C# / .NET — Web API, minimal APIs, dependency injection, async patterns.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering microservices architectures on Azure (AKS, Azure Service Bus, API Management).
  • Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and API-first / contract-first development approaches.
  • Experience working within structured methodology frameworks (Agile, SAFe, or SDD-equivalent specification-first approaches).
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge architecture teams and delivery squads — translating system designs into sprint-ready tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English; able to produce clear technical documentation.

Strongly Preferred

  • Familiarity with Specification-Driven Design (SDD) or schema-driven development patterns (JSON Schema, OpenAPI, canonical data models).
  • Experience with federated or canonical data model patterns in multi-tenant SaaS environments.
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) — board management, pipeline authoring, branch strategies.
  • Background in coaching or enabling engineers who are transitioning into a new tech stack or methodology.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with NextJS backend patterns.
  • Exposure to event-driven architecture: Signals, domain events, CQRS.
  • Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor).

About the Team
GlobalLogic is leading the modernization of our client’s enterprise ERP platform — one of the largest transformations of its kind, spanning 3,500+ legacy desktop applications migrating to a cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS architecture.

The Backend Squad is responsible for the SDK and the canonical data layer that underpins every modernized application. This work directly shapes the platform foundation that all the client’s ISVs, partners, and customers will build on.

Why This Role Exists
As the Backend Squad scales and integrates with the Client’s team, a significant coordination and enablement effort has been identified. The Client team brings strong architecture and systems thinking but is new to modern C# web development and cloud-native microservices patterns.

Specific drivers for this role include:

  • Methodological alignment between the GL Backend Squad and the client’s team on SDD (Specification-Driven Design) and ways of working.
  • SDD adoption and coaching — ensuring all contributors design to the canonical schemas and playbook standards.
  • Support with the technology upskilling of the SA team in C# web development, .NET microservices, and backend API design patterns.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery

  • Own and drive delivery of backend components, from design to production-ready code.
  • Lead architecture and implementation of .NET microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven components aligned to the ShellView/Signal/Event model.
  • Ensure code quality, test coverage, and engineering standards are consistently upheld across the BE squad.

SDD Adoption & Ways of Working

  • Champion Specification-Driven Design (SDD) across both the GL Backend Squad and the incoming client team.
  • Define and document .NET backend coding standards, design patterns, and review gates.
  • Run regular knowledge-sharing sessions and pair programming to accelerate Client team upskilling in C# and .NET.

Cross-Squad Coordination

  • Facilitate grooming sessions shared between the Backend Squad and the client team.
  • Act as the primary coordination point between GL and client team.
  • Escalate cross-team blockers and dependency risks.
  • Support planning sessions (sprint, programme increment) with accurate estimates and capacity data.

Enablement & Mentoring

  • Mentor mid-level .NET engineers within the squad as well as engineers switching from different technologies.
  • Identify skill gaps within the client team and design targeted upskilling plans for C# web development.
