Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior React Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance, scalable web applications using React.js and Next.js. The ideal candidate must be proficient in Next.js and familiar with AI productivity tools (like GitHub Copilot). A passion for AI and the ability to integrate new technologies quickly is essential. A key focus of this role will also be building intuitive UI for complex data visualizations, which requires unique problem-solving and UI design skills.

Our client provides a collaborative digital framework designed to synchronize incentives, enhance execution, build stronger relationships, and minimize manual tasks in the shipping and cargo industry.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional front-end development experience, with a strong focus on React.js and Next.js.
• Proven experience with server-side rendering and static site generation using Next.js.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and debugging techniques.

Must have:

• Familiarity with generating robust test suites and test plans using Copilot or other AI tools.
• Experience working with and maintaining a design system library.
• Proficiency in TypeScript.
• Strong collaboration with backend engineers, especially in consuming and integrating REST API responses efficiently.
• Interest in design and a forward-thinking approach to design solutions, especially important as the team does not have a dedicated designer.
• Experience building UIs that display complex data visualizations, ensuring that data is presented clearly and interactively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality code.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

 

Nice to have:

• Experience with Figma AI plugins or other AI tools to speed up new component development.
• Experience with Amazon CodeWhisperer for code reviews and improvements.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS).
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
• A keen interest in design, especially in developing user interfaces and user experience.
• Implement and maintain testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright).
• Experience coding with GitHub Copilot in IDE.

Job responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain front-end features and reusable components using Next.js.
• Collaborate with product, design, backend, and engineering teams to implement new features and functionalities. Ensure seamless integration with REST API responses.
• Build intuitive, high-performance user interfaces for complex data visualizations that are both interactive and easy to understand.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Actively incorporate AI tools (like Copilot, Figma AI plugins, and Amazon CodeWhisperer) to enhance development efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and speed up component creation.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in front-end development, AI tools, and automated testing practices.
• Contribute to design decisions, ensuring thoughtful and cohesive user interfaces, especially in complex data visualization areas, as you will have a more prominent role in design in the absence of a dedicated designer.
