Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in software development, with a minimum of 10 years in a Solutions Architect or lead role.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale application modernization or re-platforming projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in applying modernization patterns like the Strangler Fig, Side-by-Side, and Decomposition patterns.
  • Proven track record of working directly with global clients, successfully delivering tailored software solutions.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise in cloud-native architecture, including platforms like Azure or GCP, AKS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), and observability frameworks (e.g., OpenTelemetry).
  • Proficiency in a variety of tech stacks, with experience in both older (e.g., legacy monoliths) and modern (e.g., .NET, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js) technologies.
  • Deep understanding of security models, including OAuth2, OIDC, mTLS, and zero-trust principles.
  • Experience with databases, including SQL and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB), and distributed systems using event-driven patterns.
  • Knowledge of Big Data ecosystems and architecture, including data ingestion, processing, and warehousing technologies.
  • Familiarity with key concepts and platforms related to Generative AI, including frameworks, integration points, and ethical considerations.

Leadership and Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional client-facing and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and strategic roadmaps to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams in a global delivery hybrid model.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex technical projects, overseeing cross-functional teams.
  • Openness to occasional business travel, primarily within Europe.

Job responsibilities

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Solutions Architect to lead our client-facing advisory and project delivery initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a technical and strategic leader, guiding our clients—particularly in the Private Equity (PE) sector—through complex application and platform modernization journeys. This position demands a blend of hands-on technical expertise, strategic leadership, and outstanding communication skills to deliver innovative and robust solutions.

You will be responsible for leading advisory engagements for PE clients, assessing existing technology landscapes, and defining comprehensive modernization roadmaps. You will be a master of modernization patterns, guiding the transition from older technologies and architectures to modern, cloud-native solutions. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who excels at bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution, and who brings a GenAI-driven mindset to identify and leverage opportunities for AI-powered innovation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Modernization & Advisory Engagements: 

  • Engage clients with varying degrees of maturity at the CxO level to lead innovation and the development of the strategy.
  • Serve as the key technical advisor for PE clients, conducting technical due diligence and providing strategic guidance on modernization, re-platforming, and migration strategies.
  • Define and evaluate end-to-end solutions, providing rationalization, capability harmonization, risk, resilience, and security assessments.
  • Develop and present comprehensive architectural blueprints and technical solutions confidently to clients and stakeholders.
  • Architect and lead the implementation of key modernization patterns, including the Strangler Fig Pattern, Side-by-Side Pattern, and Decomposition/Microservices Pattern.

Solution Design and Leadership:

  • Design and evolve the architecture of enterprise-scale, cloud-native systems, with a strong focus on seamless integration of new and legacy components.
  • Define the reference architecture, solution patterns, and technical standards for modernization projects, ensuring a clear path to the target state.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes that support a phased migration approach and ensure the highest quality platform delivery.
  • Incorporate a GenAI-driven mindset into solution design, identifying opportunities to integrate AI/ML services, large language models, and automated processes to enhance client systems.

Technical Execution and Enablement:

  • Serve as a hands-on technical leader, guiding senior engineers and cross-functional teams through Agile/SAFe methodologies.
  • Lead the implementation of secure, resilient, and compliant solutions, enforcing zero-trust principles and embedding compliance into the architecture.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, conduct thorough code reviews, and ensure the quality and security of the application architecture.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring applications are optimized for speed, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain clear architectural documentation, including diagrams, technical specifications, and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with product management, project managers, and internal teams to align solution roadmaps with business objectives.
