Why it's important to share stories of your own impact


Gathering requirements, planning and distributing tasks, development, code review, testing and committing new features, retrospective with the team — at first glance, the work of most IT specialists looks like this. But in reality, the results of this work extend far beyond the software code. Thanks to the impact of developers, the world becomes healthier, safer, and more ecological. We communicate with each other via video, watch our favorite series on streaming, visit a doctor online or watch the fantastic opening of the Olympic Games. Smart medical devices, such as blood donation machines, insulin pumps, pain-relieving implants, or autopilot cars were also created thanks to the impact of GlobalLogic’s developers in particular. They spread the impact through their code.

Saved concert

“My wife and I went to a Hurts concert at “Olympiyskyi” stadium in Kyiv. Near the stadium I received a message from a colleague from Belgium: there was a problem with the sound console… of the same group we came to listen to. Their sound engineer had already thought he was left alone with a problem in a foreign country.

In 10 minutes I was behind the stage helping fix the hardware. I received respect from the band team, and in addition all stage pass and lunch backstage 🙂 In the end, the concert was saved!”

More green energy

I’ve created a home solar power plant in a few years. For two and a half years, my home power plant generated about 50 MW * h of electricity. It reduced CO2 emissions by almost 50 tons, which is equivalent to planting more than 2.5 thousand trees.

My team develops software for blood donation — it makes the process safer and more convenient for both the donor and the doctor. We estimated that almost every American and European uses our development when they come to donate blood.

After beginning the project we ourselves started regularly donating blood in Ukraine. This is very important, especially now.
