Requirements

Required Qualifications
Core Skills
4+ years of professional experience building production React applications
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, including ES6+ features, async programming, and functional patterns
Demonstrated experience practicing test-driven development in frontend codebases
Deep understanding of React fundamentals: component lifecycle, hooks, state management, Virtual DOM
Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles
Experience with Tailwind CSS or similar utility-first CSS frameworks
Testing Expertise
Proven track record writing meaningful tests before implementation code
Experience with modern testing frameworks (Vitest, Jest, React Testing Library, or similar)
Understanding of the testing pyramid: when to write unit tests vs integration tests vs E2E tests
Ability to write tests that validate behavior and remain stable through refactoring
DevOps & Infrastructure
Hands-on experience with Docker containerization
Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts and deployment patterns
Experience building CI/CD pipelines in GitLab or GitHub Actions
Comfortable writing Bash scripts and working in Unix/Linux environments
Understanding of CDN configuration and optimization (Akamai experience preferred)
Professional Skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Strong communication skills for technical discussions and documentation
Self-directed with ability to work independently and collaboratively
Commitment to code quality, maintainability, and engineering excellence

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with meta-frameworks like Astro or Next.js
Knowledge of state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, React Query)
Familiarity with GraphQL or RESTful API integration patterns
Experience with performance monitoring and optimization tools
Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG)
Contributions to open-source projects or technical writing
Experience mentoring junior developers in testing practices

Job responsibilities

What You’ll Do
Core Development
Design and implement user interface components using React, following the red-green-refactor cycle of TDD
Write tests first using Vitest to validate component logic, user interactions, and edge cases before implementation
Build reusable component libraries and establish patterns that scale across teams
Translate designs and wireframes into production-quality TypeScript code with comprehensive test coverage
Optimize components for performance across diverse devices and browsers
Testing & Quality
Champion testing practices, writing unit and integration tests that validate behavior rather than implementation
Maintain high code quality through ESLint configuration and enforcement
Develop testing strategies that balance unit, integration, and end-to-end coverage
Create tests that serve as living documentation of component behavior and system requirements
Infrastructure & DevOps
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or GitHub Actions
Containerize applications with Docker for consistent development and deployment environments
Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes clusters
Configure and optimize Akamai CDN for frontend delivery
Write Bash scripts for automation and tooling
Collaboration & Architecture
Work within modern frameworks like Astro or Next.js to deliver performant, SEO-friendly applications
Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to define interfaces and APIs
Participate in code reviews with a focus on test quality and architectural decisions
Mentor team members on TDD practices and modern frontend patterns
