Key Responsibilities:
Architecture & Design
Lead the design of scalable, secure, and high-impact consumer FinTech platforms that power digital banking experiences, co-branded credit cards, embedded finance, and personalized financial tools.
Design and develop robust architecture for mobile, web, and CE applications.
Articulate end-to-end engineering solutions and define architectural vision for banking-as-a-service (BaaS), card issuance and processing, digital identity and onboarding, customer insights, and secure integrations with partners and FinTech providers.
Articulate choice of technologies and patterns using Microservice architecture, OAuth 2.0, Open ID Connect, SOAP, REST, and other frameworks, platforms, and open source.
Build applications with strict security protocols that are not vulnerable to attacks.
Create and implement comprehensive mobile application architectures for both iOS and Android platforms, focusing on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Design modular, reusable components and manage complex state and data flows.
Oversee the integration of mobile applications with backend services, APIs, and third-party systems, ensuring seamless functionality and data flow.
Maintain system documentation, architecture blueprints, and technical standards to guide development and cross-team partnerships.
Required Skills & Experience:
7-10 years of experience in financial services, FinTech, or digital banking environments with customer-facing product delivery.
Experience in enterprise systems architecture, software engineering, or infrastructure design at scale.
5+ years of experience crafting or integrating consumer banking platforms, credit card issuance systems, or BaaS platforms (e.g., Galileo, Marqeta, Synapse, Bond, Unit).
Experience working with KYC/AML vendors, fraud prevention tools, or financial data aggregators (e.g., Alloy, Persona, Plaid, Trustly, MX).
4-7 years of experience in mobile and web application architecture for financial products, including account opening, card activation, and account servicing.
Experience crafting compliant FinTech systems within the framework of PCI DSS, SOC 2, and other regulatory obligations.
Proficiency in mobile development frameworks and platforms (e.g., Swift, Objective C, Xcode, Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, React Native, Flutter or Xamarin).
Deep understanding of architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture, and their application in mobile development.
Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and web services integration.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and mobile-specific cloud solutions.
Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Bitrise).
Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and strategies for mobile applications.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration
Collaborate with multi-discipline client teams, product managers, UX designers, and engineers to solve complex problems, define features, and implement solutions.
Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams, conducting code reviews and enforcing coding standards.
Represent the team in architectural and technical discussions with other engineering teams.
Mentor team members on best coding practices and ensure quality planning and processes.
Requirement Gathering & Evaluation
Responsible for understanding and analyzing requirements based on client communications.
Review UX and technical requirements and evaluate compliance with submission guidelines (e.g., Apple store).
Technical assessment and estimation of new product features.
Identify and evaluate internal/external technology (vendors, frameworks/APIs) to integrate with mobile applications.
Security & Compliance
Ensure secure architecture and data design for customer onboarding, credit decisioning, account servicing, and financial transactions.
Champion privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance (including PCI, GLBA, CFPB, Reg E, GDPR, HIPAA, OWASP) across consumer-facing FinTech platforms.
Optimization & Innovation
Optimize mobile applications for speed, responsiveness, and user experience.
Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to test emerging FinTech capabilities such as credit scoring models, instant issuing, and account verification innovations.
Stay updated with the latest mobile technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on products.
