Discover how GlobalLogic’s AI-powered solutions helped a global software leader migrate...

We are pleased to announce that, after successfully concluding the seventh edition of our internal well-being initiative, the “Moving Challenge” program, our team has reached the collective goal required to unlock a company donation. As a result, we are excited to support two educational initiatives with a total of 20,000$. These social projects were proposed and voted on by our colleagues participating in the program, selected from a total of 14 causes.
“The support provided by GlobalLogic helps us continue the MagicEDU mission: to offer young people the chance to pursue their dreams, regardless of their personal circumstances. Especially during this time, when everything is becoming more expensive and financial resources are limited, their contribution makes a real difference. We are very grateful, and this appreciation was beautifully expressed by one of the scholarship recipients, who said: ‘The EDU Scholarship proved to me that if you dare to ask for help, someone will hear you and support you.’ We believe there is no greater acknowledgment than knowing we are the answer to a cry for help, and that answer is you.” – Gocica Madalina, MagicEDU Project Manager.
“The support from GlobalLogic came at a crucial time for us, coinciding with our move to new headquarters. This partnership gives us the confidence to continue enhancing our educational program and to lay the groundwork for a day treatment center for young people facing addiction challenges. We are deeply thankful for a collaboration that strengthens our daily mission and addresses the urgent need for change.” – Tabita Cernica, Executive Director Preventis Association.

“Supporting educational initiatives is one of the core pillars of our corporate social responsibility efforts. We value being part of meaningful causes chosen by our colleagues.
Collaborating towards a common goal over the past four years, since we integrated the CSR component, has significantly enhanced the program’s gamification aspect. It is rewarding to see the impact of this program, not only on our colleagues’ well-being but also on the wider community and society as a whole. I am proud of our entire team for selecting these two associations that benefited from GlobalLogic Romania’s support this year” – remarked Alexandra Achim, HR Head GlobalLogic Romania.
About the Moving Challenge Program
The Moving Challenge is a 6-month internal employee well-being program that focuses on building healthy habits while making a positive impact on society and the planet. The program encourages participation in outdoor physical activities such as walking, running, and biking (cycling).
It was created at Fortech (now GlobalLogic Romania) in 2018 based on an idea from employees, and has been continuously improved through open feedback from participants. In early 2024, as Fortech completed its integration with GlobalLogic, the program was expanded to six countries in Europe: Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Croatia, Sweden, and Germany. In 2025, the program was extended to Ukraine and UK&I.
An internal application is used to track progress. It syncs with activities recorded on Strava or Sports Tracker and converts kilometers into points based on an internal scoring system. There is also a leaderboard feature where participants can check their progress compared to colleagues. To encourage daily activity over sporadic, high-performance sports, the system awards more points for meeting a daily kilometer target.
2025 edition ended with 1,000+ participants who had collectively logged over 856,000 kilometers, contributing to a reduction of over 174 tonnes of CO2 emissions by encouraging alternative transportation.
The program was recognized with an European Bronze Award for Best Employee Wellbeing Initiative at the 2025 Employer Brand Management Awards Gala in London.
The CSR Layer – We Move for Good
The Moving Challenge program is designed not only to enhance employee well-being but also to incorporate a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) component. This layer is activated when the team collectively reaches a target of 300,000 kilometers through walking, running, and biking. Upon achieving this target, GlobalLogic Romania will donate 10,000$ and contribute an additional $0.25 for each kilometer covered by participants beyond the initial target, up to an extra $10,000. This means a total potential donation of 20,000$ for the 2025 edition. We are thrilled to share that this year, we exceeded our team target by 2.85 times.
The NGOs eligible for funding must be based in Romania and are nominated by the participants themselves, who also have the final vote to determine which causes will receive the funding.
This year, the two NGOs that received 10.000$ each were Magic and Preventis associations.
In 2024, we supported Hospice Emanuel from Oradea and “Sfantul Hristofor” Pediatric Palliative Care Center from Cluj-Napoca with 10.000$ each, both of which specialize in palliative care for children and adults. We were also honored to receive the Bronze Award in the “Employee Support” category at Romanian Sustainability & CSR Awards 2025 for the outcomes of the Moving Challenge 2024.
In 2023, we supported the Magic and Something New Associations with 10.000 EUR each to develop their impactful educational projects. We were also honored to receive the Silver Award in the “Employee Support” category at Romanian CSR Awards 2024 for the outcomes of the Moving Challenge 2023.
In 2022, we donated 15.000 EUR to the Ajungem Mari NGO, supporting their aim of empowering children and young people to grow into responsible, independent, and happy individuals.
