Description

Join us to build the connected vision intelligence layer that unifies surgical imaging, robotics, and data services across the operating room portfolio spanning endoluminal, orthopedics, and the next-gen general-surgery platform, while powering the digital ecosystem in hospitals. You’ll help transform raw surgical video and device signals into real-time insights, collaborative telepresence, and longitudinal case intelligence used before, during, and after procedures. First product releases include surgical video editing/publishing and telepresence, rolling out to select sites in the near future. Your work will directly accelerate that journey and connect robotic vision to the OR and hospital digital platform

This platform is at the heart of a next-generation surgical experience – designed to connect data, devices, and teams. The current release includes tools for surgical video management, telepresence, and case planning, already rolled out in select hospitals.

Requirements

We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a high-impact healthcare initiative with our client, a world-renowned leader in medical technology. You’ll be a key player in migrating a secure digital surgical ecosystem from Azure to AWS, with a specific focus on the platform’s critical media components.

This platform is a next-generation surgical experience, connecting data, devices, and teams. The current release includes tools for surgical video management, telepresence, and case planning, all of which rely on real-time data and media captured directly from medical devices during procedures. In this role, you’ll help build a secure, resilient, and compliant environment for these critical media and healthcare applications that directly impact lives.

Required Skills

  • Media DevOps: Strong background in managing and debugging video and video streams, particularly those captured from medical devices.
  • AWS Media Services: Hands-on experience with services like AWS Elemental and AWS Kinesis.
  • Video Formats & Timestamps: Deep knowledge of various video formats, codecs, and working with video timestamps, especially in a low-latency, real-time environment.
  • AWS Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with core AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, ECS, etc.).
  • DevOps Practices: Deep understanding of continuous integration, deployment, monitoring, and automation.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Expertise with Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Containerization: Solid understanding of Docker and Kubernetes for cloud-native applications.
  • Scripting: Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
  • System Design: Proven ability to design highly available, fault-tolerant systems in the AWS cloud.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional ability to troubleshoot complex cloud issues.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Job responsibilities

This is your chance to work on a product that impacts lives, leverages modern cloud technology, and prioritizes security, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the migration and optimization of AWS infrastructure, with a specific focus on the media delivery pipeline that handles video and data streams from medical devices.
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and automated workflows for media and microservices.
  • Implement and oversee Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with Terraform or CloudFormation to provision and manage AWS resources.
  • Ensure the security, performance, and compliance of the cloud environment, with particular attention to AWS Media Services and video data captured from surgical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud and DevOps issues, ensuring high availability and resilience for live video and data streams from medical devices.
  • Contribute to the architecture of the cloud infrastructure on AWS, enabling seamless data flow and system scalability across microservices and media components.
  • Ability to work on shift hours
