Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Performance Engineer to join our team in building high-performing, reliable, and scalable SaaS products. In this role, you will take ownership of performance-related initiatives—designing and executing comprehensive performance and load tests, identifying system bottlenecks, and delivering clear, actionable recommendations for optimization.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate performance best practices across the entire development lifecycle. This includes conducting technical assessments to enhance system scalability, capacity, and reliability, as well as contributing to the design and development of automated tests and test frameworks.

Our team works in an ownership-based environment, giving you the autonomy to define how best to achieve shared goals. We value initiative and expect team members to proactively bring forward ideas, challenge assumptions, and continuously improve both processes and systems.

The platform you’ll be working on supports large-scale data integration and entity matching across heterogeneous sources. The current engineering focus is on modernizing the architecture to improve scalability and orchestration readiness, refactoring core services, and laying a strong foundation for future AI-based capabilities. This is a high-impact role with clear roadmap milestones and alignment with a multi-year digital transformation strategy.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in performance testing and engineering, preferably in SaaS or cloud-native environments

Technical Expertise

  • Proficiency in industry-standard performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, BlazeMeter, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration using Kubernetes
  • Solid programming or scripting skills in Java or Python
  • Experience analyzing performance in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, or similar
  • Sound understanding of system architecture, web services, REST APIs, and microservices

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical issues
  • Self-driven and able to work both independently and collaboratively in an Agile environment

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems and high-volume data testing
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in global, distributed teams
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their performance-related services
  • Exposure to frontend performance testing, React, JSON, and API performance tuning
  • Understanding of network protocols and chaos engineering principles

Job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute performance and load tests to validate system scalability, stability, and reliability
  • Identify, analyze, and meticulously report performance bottlenecks, providing clear and actionable recommendations for improvement
  • Develop and maintain robust testing frameworks, automation scripts, and tools to support continuous performance testing efforts
  • Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to understand system architecture, identify performance requirements, and guide performance testing strategies
  • Monitor system performance in production environments and support root cause analysis for any performance-related issues or incidents
  • Act as a subject matter expert on performance optimization, sharing best practices through comprehensive documentation, training sessions, and technical discussions
  • Contribute to the definition of performance metrics and SLOs/SLAs for various components and services
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques in performance engineering and testing
