BMC Discovery Knowledge Team is recruiting for a Knowledge Developer Engineer to join our team.

This person will work as part of the BMC Discovery Content team located in UK, France and Ukraine to increase and improve key value-add components of ADDM – the software product patterns (fingerprints). The software product patterns are written in a domain-specific scripting language used to describe and model the software BMC Discovery is discovering.

• 0-1 years of scripting language development skills (Perl, Python, UNIX shell)
• Overall work experience of 0-1 years, ideally in 1st or 2nd level Support or Junior System Administrator role, user-level experience in either Linux/UNIX or Windows environments(ideally both UNIX/Linux and Windows)
• Understanding of software development process and best practices (code clarity, code testing, code quality, unit test, CI/CD)
• Very Good to Excellent English language skills, both oral and written
• Collaborative and cross-team work experience 

Desirable Skills:

• Understanding of UNIX or Windows systems, Cloud technologies
• Іome experience in writing python scripts
• Able to work and meet targets with minimal supervision
• Tools: Wiki, Confluence, Jira, GIT, etc…

Job responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate software product fingerprint requirements (ex of vendors: Oracle, IBM, Microsoft…)
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software product fingerprints
• Write automation scripts to perform automated tests
• Document knowledge gained for internal use as well as used by our customers.
• Actively participate in process improvement efforts
