Requirements
We are seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the end-to-end cloud migration and infrastructure modernization for our client’s web platform.
- 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Architecture, or Site Reliability Engineering.
- Expert-level proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS), with deep knowledge of core compute, storage, and networking services (e.g., VPC, S3, CloudFront, ECS/EKS, IAM).
- Proven track record of executing zero-downtime or minimal-downtime cloud migrations (specifically moving workloads from Google Cloud Platform to AWS is highly desirable).
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, primarily Terraform, to provision and manage cloud environments.
- Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, AWS ECS, or Kubernetes) for deploying modern web applications.
- Experience managing and migrating relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL (AWS RDS).
- Proven ability to design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI).
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently on assigned modules while aligning with the overall architectural vision.
Job responsibilities
- Architect and provision a secure, scalable AWS environment to house the RIA platform’s three-tier architecture (Angular frontend, FastAPI backend, PostgreSQL database).
- Lead the technical migration of the platform from its current Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment to AWS, ensuring data integrity and minimal business disruption.
- Write and maintain clean, reusable Terraform scripts to fully automate the provisioning of the new AWS staging and production environments.
- Design and migrate the CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment for both the frontend SPA and backend API containers.
- Configure and optimize cloud networking, security groups, and IAM roles to meet strict enterprise compliance and regulatory standards.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Datadog) to ensure platform health and performance post-migration.
