As an HD Map Data Specialist, you will be responsible for editing, validating, and maintaining high-accuracy HD map data using specialized tools and platforms. This role involves interpreting complex aerial and LiDAR data, creating map features, performing data quality checks, and ensuring all outputs meet stringent client and industry standards.
• 3–7 years of experience in HD Map production workflows
• 1+ years of people management experience
• Strong proficiency in HD map editing tools, GIS platforms, and proprietary mapping software.
• Good understanding of road networks, junction modeling, traffic rules, and lane-level mapping.
• Hands-on experience with QGIS plugins, LiDAR interpretation, and 2D/3D validations.
• Analytical and logical problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with global clients/projects (HERE, TomTom, Apple, OEM/OEM-driven HD maps) preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple workflows, meet deadlines, and work in cross-functional teams.
• Exposure to ADAS/Autonomous Driving standards (NDS, ADASIS, SAE levels).
• Knowledge of Python/SQL for automation of map data processes.
• Experience with defect management tools and client reporting.
• Lead and manage a team of 25–30 headcount ensuring smooth daily operations and task delivery
• Monitor and address shrinkage, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions
• Handle escalations effectively, ensuring quick resolution and client/stakeholder satisfaction
• Coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure timelines and quality standards are consistently met
• Configure project workflows, data sources, and maintain clear process documentation for streamlined execution.
• Model and refine road infrastructure features including shoulders, barriers, curbs, and pavement markings.
• Create accurate representations of junctions, merges, splits, and roundabouts with detailed lane connectivity.
• Conduct manual audits to ensure data completeness, consistency, and adherence to specifications.
• Identify and resolve mapping rule violations or issues flagged during automated or manual quality control processes.
• Align HD map data against imagery, LiDAR, and survey data for high positional accuracy.
• Attribute and validate standard, conditional, and variable speed limits based on visual or sensor data.
• Digitize and classify regulatory, warning, and guide signs to enhance navigation accuracy.
• Accurately map and attribute overhead structures such as bridges, gantries, and tunnels.
• Map lane-level surface features including arrows, stop lines, pedestrian crossings, and other critical markings.
• Use specialized tools such as Sausegen Editor (QGIS Plugin) for editing, validating, and modeling complex features.
