GlobalLogic is partnering with a global leader in medical technology on a strategic initiative to build the next generation of intelligent, connected surgical ecosystems. The program leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to enhance surgical precision, automate validation processes, and accelerate innovation across high-volume medical devices.

In parallel, the team is developing a digital platform that connects surgical video, robotics, imaging, and data analytics into an integrated, secure environment. This solution enables real-time insights, advanced collaboration, and data-driven decision-making for surgical teams. Early releases include modules for surgical video analysis, telepresence, and procedure planning — already being adopted by leading hospitals across Europe.

As an Engineering Director, you will play a key leadership role in scaling this strategic account, which is entering a rapid growth phase. You will define and execute the technical strategy, drive delivery excellence, and build high-performing engineering teams capable of supporting complex, multi-domain innovation programs. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the evolution of connected surgery and deliver technology that directly improves clinical outcomes worldwide.

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic leader with a strong track record in technical project and program management. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 10+ years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a management role. Proven ability to lead large teams (50+FTEs) and oversee multiple projects or accounts simultaneously is essential.
  • Strategic leadership skills with the ability to define long-term goals, translate them into actionable roadmaps, and ensure successful execution. A history of delivering high-impact technology solutions in regulated or mission-critical environments is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and scaling technology departments or practices (within MedTech, healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries is a significant advantage).
  • A strong technical and academic foundation, ideally in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Deep domain knowledge in Medical Devices (desirable), Cloud, Automation, or AI, and familiarity with the core technologies driving these areas.
  • Solid understanding of modern SDLC methodologies and strong management skills, including the ability to establish and refine project processes, anticipate and mitigate risks, understand financial implications, and address challenges proactively.
  • Expertise in medical software development and healthcare regulatory environments (e.g., HIPAA, FDA, MDR), as well as data privacy and integration with medical hardware or healthcare IT systems — considered a major advantage.
  • Familiarity with NDA/MSA/SOW frameworks and hands-on experience drafting or reviewing such documents.
  • Strong presales experience, with the ability to pitch ideas, work on proposals, build client trust, act as a strategic advisor, shape new opportunities, contribute to go-to-market initiatives, and participate in RFI/RFP processes.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset, with a willingness to take initiative, shape new directions, represent the company at industry events, and contribute to internal innovation and a culture of technical excellence.
  • High level of autonomy and versatility, with a results-driven approach, strong ownership, and commitment to delivering on obligations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client management skills, along with advanced English proficiency for both technical and business contexts.
  • Readiness to undertake business travel as required.

We are looking for Engineering Leader responsible for scaling a multi-product engineering program — growing the team to approximately 100+ engineers in the near future. The role combines strategic program development with hands-on project leadership, ensuring smooth day-to-day planning and execution. The leader will drive technical excellence, oversee project delivery and reporting, and actively contribute to business growth and stakeholder engagement.

  • Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the new MedTech engineering organization, ensuring alignment with company objectives, industry trends, and emerging market opportunities. Represent the MedTech practice both internally and externally, serving as a thought leader and trusted advisor to clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Build and lead a high-performing cross-functional engineering department, establishing the organizational structure, delivery frameworks, technical standards, and governance models required to scale a world-class MedTech capability. Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent across multiple locations.
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-project programs, ensuring predictable execution, high-quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery. Drive operational excellence across all engagements, implementing robust SDLC practices, risk management processes, quality gates, and performance tracking.
  • Shape and execute project and product strategy in close collaboration with senior leadership, clients, and product managers. Guide project planning, prioritization, and execution while maintaining strong alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and long-term technical direction.
  • Support business development and pre-sales, bringing deep technical and domain expertise to proposals, discovery workshops, and client pitches. Identify and shape new opportunities, contribute to go-to-market initiatives, develop solution concepts, and participate in RFI/RFP responses.
  • Cultivate long-term client partnerships, acting as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders. Ensure strategic alignment, advise on technology and product decisions, and foster a relationship built on trust, transparency, and reliability.
  • Drive innovation and value creation, supporting the design and development of prototypes, MVPs, and proof-of-concepts that validate ideas and accelerate business growth. Ensure technical solutions align with the company’s technology roadmap and client requirements.
  • Manage multiple parallel engagements, demonstrating strong multitasking capabilities, effective resource planning, dependency management, and risk mitigation. Collaborate with product managers on backlog refinement, prioritization, and ensuring delivery efficiency.
  • Lead people management and organizational development, including goal setting, performance management, succession planning, and career development. Build a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion internal improvements, knowledge sharing, and mentorship, supporting the growth of less experienced managers and engineering leaders. Continuously refine delivery methodologies, engineering best practices, and cross-departmental collaboration models.
