Controls the compliance of a banking systems with architecture standards and proposes technical solutions for their evolution according to the IT Strategy of said banking system, with an increased focus on the cross-alignment between Information Systems and Technology Division and Business Intelligence and Reporting Competence Center. Supports the selection/sourcing process of technologies ensuring their compatibility with the existing architecture.

7+ years in IT, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in banking IT

Business knowledge

• Knowledge about banking and banking products
• Advance understanding and knowledge about Financial Market and Investment.
• Deep understanding about banking processes with focus on Financial Market
• Economic and financial knowledge (desired)

Technical knowledge

• Solid IT technology knowledge and of IT architecture standards and methodology frameworks (TOGAF)
• Technical and information technology knowledge
• Understanding of IT technology trends
• Solid knowledge of banking IT applications
• Knowledge and experience with Java, J2EE, EAI, SOA, DB technologies
• Knowledge of application development standards
• Knowledge of IT architecture and IT infrastrcuture standards
• Knowledge of software modelling products
• General knowledge of Oracle AQ
• In depth knowledge of one J2EE Application Server
• Customer request analysis
• IT assessment tools and IT estimation tools (desired)
• Experience in IT strategy and IT roadmap design (desired)

Experience in relevant corporate background

• Experience with systems development methodologies within a large corporate environment
• Preferable experience in complex IT environments

1. Specific delivery responsibilities

Manages the architecture of the IT systems in a bank

• Designs architecture solutions for the IT systems complying with the IT architecture and technology standards of the bank.
• Ensures the cross-alignment between Information Systems and Technology Division and Business Intelligence and Reporting Competence Center regarding the architecture solutions proposed and the evolution of the architecture of IT systems in the bank.
• Plays the role of Project Technical Lead for complex solutions, ensures continuous and collaborative support to technical analysts including the delivery of the solution’s Building Permit
• Documents and stores information and/or system architecture models and data structure models. Keeps records of all updates and/or changes brought to the system architecture and to the data structures information.
• Ensures the consistency of the Bank’s data model, in cooperation with the other IT Divisions of the Bank.
• Performs the technical evaluation of projects and technical solutions and checks the compliance with the architectural principles agreed in the bank’s IT Strategy. When needed, defines recommendations for changing them or requires the definition of alternative solutions.

• Defines and submits for approval by the hierarchical superiors the approach for

 

• Splitting complex technical solutions into IT system components, in compliance with the architectural separation principles and with the organisational areas of responsibility. Also checks that critical elements such as development, implementation, migration, logistics, acquisitions and data compatibility have been considered.
• Contributes to effort and cost estimations
• Revises the requirements for the evolution of the technical architecture for the support infrastructure of the bank’s IT systems, ensuring the compatibility between the systems’ architecture and the business continuity requirements.
• Supports the selection process of software products to be integrated in the architecture of IT systems in the bank by performing the technical assessment of the proposed solutions.
• Contributes to the definition of standards and architecture/security/design/ development procedures and monitors that they are actually enforced. Ensures the consistency between the software/hardware acquisitions plans and the system architecture and data requirements.
• Participates in the definition of the principles for architectural evolution of IT systems in the bank. Proposes solutions for modernizing the existing architectures, depending on the technological market evolution
• Contributes to the elaboration of the IT roadmap document, part of the bank’s IT Strategy.
• Provides advice and upstream support to ensure the right scoping of Business Requirements during high level concept design of IT solutions
• Ensures the market intelligence about technology trends and the assessment of how they fit with the bank’s specific architecture and business requirements

Quality Assurance

• Controls the quality of deliverables from internal and external resources by setting up a process for quality assurance
• Performs assessment of internal and external resources and delivers regular feedback to team members and respective vendors

Methods, processes and standards

• Is responsible for proactive and continuous improvement of processes and communication flows in which he/she is involved
• Supervises the definition, evolution and maintenance of business/technical analysis, documentation, design standards in the area of responsibility

Group related responsibilities

• Ensures and verifies the integration of the coordinated areas with Group relevant standards and procedures
• Ensures the participations to Group activities for the area of responsibility
• Has representation role in the area of responsibility

Fulfills any tasks received in relation with his / her work and activity, provided by the hierarchical superior and which do not contradict the actual legislation
