Description

We are working on a modern robotic surgical platform for laparoscopic procedures. We are expanding the test team and looking for an Associate Test Engineer who will support manual/automation testing and documentation, and at the same time act as a Lab Equipment Coordinator for our robotics lab.

Requirements

Must have:

  • 1–2 years of experience in software testing (commercial experience, internships or strong courses / pet projects).
  • Understanding of basic testing concepts: test types, bug life cycle, SDLC, test case.
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g. Python) and willingness to not only write simple test scripts, but also support the development and improvement of the test automation framework under guidance of senior engineers.
  • Experience with any bug-tracking system (Jira is a plus).
  • Basic experience working with Linux and/or Windows (installation, logs, simple commands).
  • Ability to work with hardware in a safe and organised way (connecting devices, cables, basic handling of lab equipment).
  • English sufficient for reading documentation and simple communication in chat and meetings (around B1).
  • Strong attention to detail, responsibility and willingness to learn.

Nice to have:

  • Any experience testing embedded/hardware systems, robots, medical devices or industrial automation.
  • The candidate should be comfortable with basic soldering (e.g. cables, connectors, simple electronic components).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git).
  • Experience with real-time or robotics environments:
    Knowledge of QNX and/or ROS2 will be an advantage.

Job responsibilities

Testing & QA:

  • Perform manual/automation functional, regression and integration testing based on existing test cases.
  • Log and track defects in Jira.
  • Maintain and update test documentation: test cases, test reports.
  • Collaborate with developers, system engineers and senior test engineers on issue investigation and verification.
  • Participate in daily team meetings (Scrum).

Lab equipment coordination:

  • Act as a Lab Equipment Coordinator for the team: track, organise and maintain test hardware (robots, instruments, PCs, cables, measurement devices, spare parts, etc.).
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of lab equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain test setups in the lab (cabling, connecting devices, basic mechanical work, replacing components under supervision).
  • Support booking, sharing and proper usage of lab equipment between team members.
  • Report issues with lab equipment and coordinate basic servicing / repairs with responsible parties.
