Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and pragmatic Android Application Engineer to join our team, focusing on architectural improvements, tooling upgrades, and testing capabilities for Android applications that support vehicle functions. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, capable of providing effective advice and support to the organization.

Requirements

Requirements:
Advanced Android Application development
M.Sc in Software Engineering or similar relevant experience
Proven experience in building and maintaining Android applications, with deep understanding of Kotlin and Java.
Experience from working in a Linux environment
Experience in developing automated unit or integration tests in Java/Kotlin
Experience in working with Git/Gerrit/Jenkins tools
Good English skill (written and spoken)
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams, including documentation and support for onboarding.
Ability to mentor developers, promote best practices, and support knowledge transfer across teams to ensure long-term maintainability and scalability.

Nice to Have:
Experience within Automotive, Infotainment and from working in an international environment

Job responsibilities

• Migration of application builds to Gradle Pipeline.
• Dependency Management in Artifactory.
• Decoupling of Android Applications to reduce merge conflicts.
• Refactoring Architecture through Dependency Injection.
• Migrate Android applications from Java to Kotlin, including refactoring the communication layer with Kotlin Flow.
• Expand unit and instrumentation test coverage.
• Integrate UI event service for data collection and develop dashboards using Azure Data Explorer (ADX).
