Description

GlobalLogic is seeking a Data Services Engineer to join our growing team at GlobalLogic. In this role, you will be responsible for executing data migration, transformation, and integration processes that support enterprise-scale systems. You will collaborate closely with clients and internal technical teams to ensure seamless data movement, accuracy, and integrity throughout each project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
• 5–6 years of hands-on experience working with complex databases and query languages such as SQL and PL/SQL.
• Proven experience in data migration, data transformation, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Strong understanding of database architecture and experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
• Familiarity with data integration tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is an added advantage.
• Solid problem-solving and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy and consistency.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

• Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to understand the scope, requirements, and objectives of data migration and integration projects.
• Plan and execute data migration processes, including extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from legacy systems into target platforms.
• Develop, write, and optimize SQL / PL-SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and validate data as part of the migration workflow.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, integrity, and consistency throughout the migration and post-migration phases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues to minimize project delays and maintain delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with engineering, development, and QA teams to ensure seamless data integration and system compatibility.
• Document all migration processes, methodologies, validation steps, and results to support traceability and continuous improvement.
• Provide regular progress updates and reports to internal teams and clients, highlighting milestones, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for data migration and integration, suggesting process improvements for greater efficiency.
• Support data transformation and validation testing, ensuring compliance with project and business requirements.
