Junior QA Engineer – OTT app and device testing IRC274808

Description

Join GlobalLogic, to be a valid part of the team working on a huge software project for the world-class company providing M2M / IoT 4G/5G modules e.g. to the automotive, healthcare and logistics industries. Through our engagement, we contribute to our customer in developing the end-user modules’ firmware, implementing new features, maintaining compatibility with the newest telecommunication and industry standards, as well as performing analysis and estimations of the customer requirements.

Requirements

You’ll play a key role in shaping the quality of the app on TVs. You’ll execute manual and automated tests, to help drive the next generation of reliability and quality. The right person for this role must be able to create and execute test cases and collaborate directly with the developers, and technical program managers to ensure quick, effective communication of issues and test results.

MUST HAVE Qualifications

1. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about quality
2. 2+ years of practical QA experience, preferably testing on devices (Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, and Apple TV)
3. Strong organizational skills and ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously
4. Knowledge of QA methodology and test/defect management tools. Experience using TestRail and Jira is a plus
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
6. Good reporting, analytical and problem solving skills

Nice to HAVE

1. Experience managing cross-functional relationships
2. Experience running and triaging automated tests for web applications is a plus
3. Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS is a plus

Job responsibilities

Responsibilities:

1. Design test plans and create test cases for exciting new features being introduced
2. Partner with various product and engineering teams to help validate the streaming application on partner devices
3. Improve existing test cases when there are gaps
4. Diagnose issues, report defects, and propose additional tests to discover reoccurrences
5. Help with triaging automation issues (it will not be immediately but they should have very basic automation experience)
