The current project focuses on enhancing the observability platform to ensure high availability, performance, and visibility of services. The SRE Observability team is responsible for building and operating large-scale systems that support monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics across distributed environments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role or similar position.
  • 5+ years experience designing, deploying, and operating mid to large-size distributed systems on VMs or bare metal machines running Linux.
  • 2+ years of proven experience developing with languages like Ruby, Python, Go, Scala, or Bash.
  • Experience with the following technologies (or similar): Elasticsearch Logstash Kibana (ELK) stack, Kafka, Prometheus/Thanos/Cortex, Graphite, Ansible, Terraform, Consul.
  • Willingness to participate in a production on-call rotation.
  • Understand the value of observability and can work with other teams to help them better monitor their services.
  • Ability to learn fast and feel comfortable diving into unfamiliar code and systems to solve problems.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and interest of solving difficult problems in large distributed systems that deal with huge amounts of data.
  • Ability to work in a highly autonomous team that is deeply focused on quality and customer experience.
  • Proven experience in building out solutions based on software engineering best practices.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles and proficiency.

Job responsibilities

As a Senior SRE Engineer focused on Observability, you will:

  • Design, build, and scale observability infrastructure for large-scale distributed systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Operate and maintain monitoring, logging, and tracing systems using tools like Prometheus, ELK stack, etc.
  • Design and implement an alerting framework that enables engineering teams to create alerts using multiple data sources and flexible workflows.
  • Build internal tooling, APIs, and dashboards to enable self-service observability across engineering teams.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and observability workflows using Terraform, and related tooling.
  • Stay up to date with observability trends and best practices, continuously identifying opportunities to enhance system insight and resilience.
