Requirements

15+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on the .NET stack.

7+ years of experience in a formal people management or technical lead role, managing a team of software engineers.

 

Technical Expertise:

Expert-level proficiency in C#, .NET Core / .NET 6+.

Strong experience building and consuming ASP.NET Core Web APIs (RESTful services).

Solid experience with database design and development (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases).

 

Architecture: Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, distributed systems (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture).

 

Cloud: Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform (Azure is strongly preferred; AWS/GCP are relevant).

 

Leadership: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.

 

Methodology: Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum principles and practices.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Deep experience with Azure cloud services (e.g., App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Service Bus, Kubernetes Service).

Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).

Experience with a modern front-end framework (e.g., Angular, React, or Blazor).

Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

1. People & Team Leadership

Lead and Mentor: Manage a team of [Number] .NET developers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to support their career growth.

Performance Management: Conduct regular 1-on-1s, set clear goals and expectations, and perform formal performance reviews.

Hiring & Onboarding: Actively participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding process to attract and retain top engineering talent.

Culture: Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture that values quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

2. Technical Leadership & Strategy

Architecture & Design: Oversee the architectural design of new services and applications within the .NET ecosystem, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and secure.

Technical Roadmap: Collaborate with product managers and senior leadership to define and execute the technical roadmap, aligning it with business objectives.

Hands-On Contribution: Remain hands-on, participating in code reviews, design discussions, and solving the most complex technical challenges alongside your team.

Best Practices: Champion and enforce engineering best practices for coding, testing (unit, integration), CI/CD, and monitoring.

3. Project Execution & Delivery

Project Management: Guide the team through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) using Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Delivery: Ensure the team delivers high-quality, on-time projects by managing priorities, removing roadblocks, and communicating status to stakeholders.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product development and release.

Risk Management: Proactively identify technical risks, dependencies, and performance bottlenecks, and develop mitigation strategies.
