Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Software Engineer in Test Automation with strong problem-solving skills, hands-on programming expertise, and a proven track record of working on large-scale web applications deployed on cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of video streaming technologies, automation frameworks, and software engineering best practices. This role requires a strategic thinker who can design and implement robust automation solutions, ensuring high-quality product delivery while driving innovation in QA processes.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering or Test Automation roles.
• Technical Skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities; expertise in defect identification and resolution.
• Hands-on experience with video streaming technologies: DASH, HLS, MPEG-4, WideVine, FairPlay.
• Strong programming skills in one or more: JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go.
• Solid understanding of core computer science fundamentals: operating systems, algorithms, data structures, databases.
• Strong knowledge of frontend/web fundamentals: HTML5, CSS.
• Expertise with automation frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, Cucumber, Appium, JUnit.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and large-scale cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with TDD/BDD practices and exposure to AI in test automation.

Job responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for web and cloud-based applications.
• Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve defects by collaborating with development and QA teams.
• Implement and maintain automated test cases across multiple platforms (web, API, video streaming).
• Drive test strategy, planning, and execution for large-scale applications with a focus on video streaming technologies (DASH, HLS, MPEG-4, WideVine, FairPlay).
• Leverage programming skills (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go) to build automation solutions and utilities.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, and DevOps) to ensure high-quality releases.
• Promote best practices in TDD/BDD and encourage adoption of AI-driven QA automation approaches.
• Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance QA efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Ensure compliance with performance, security, and scalability requirements during testing.
