The project represents a big system including integration between the embedded device, mobile application, and web services, and because of this, we are focusing a lot on the security aspects of the embedded system. Requirements

The Senior Systems Design Verification Software Development Engineer in Test (Senior SDET) is responsible for leading the development, execution, and approval of system-level automated tests used for design verification prior to product release. This role provides technical leadership across system verification activities, working closely with systems, software, and test engineering teams to ensure robust verification strategies, regulatory compliance, and high product quality.

 

  • Strong software development skills, including Python and testing frameworks (prefferably JUnit or TestNG)
  • Deep understanding of HTTP-based protocols (e.g REST, SOAP) and API testing strategies.
  • Experience with Android and/or iOS technology stacks
  • Proficiency with source control management tools (Git, Bitbucket).
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo.
  • Prior experience in regulated environments (e.g., FDA/ISO) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in Agile-based software development environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile story design and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated technical judgment and strong technical leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience leading small cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.
  • Familiarity with system-level testing of software-based products

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in regulated environments (e.g., medical devices, FDA/ISO standards)
  • Test engineering training and/or certification is a plus

Job responsibilities

  • Review, extend, and evolve existing test automation tools and frameworks to develop new system-level automated tests for Android, iOS, and web services applications.
  • Monitor and guide maintenance of automated test suites to align with evolving requirements and system performance insights.
  • Oversee execution of automated tests, ensuring accurate result capture, issue documentation, and adherence to formal verification processes.
  • Plan, execute, and report dry runs of new and updated automated test cases prior to formal verification cycles.
  • Lead and guide manual scripted and exploratory testing to support new feature development, regression testing, and system-level verification needs.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with systems, development, and test engineers to define and approve test automation procedures and verification protocols, ensuring comprehensive coverage across testing levels.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to identify, analyze, and resolve system-level defects and integration issues.
  • Perform systematic reviews of automated test cases to ensure coverage of typical use cases, edge cases, and negative scenarios (happy path, alternate path, failure modes).
  • Develop and maintain verification and validation protocols for test tools.
  • Author verification reports and ensure accurate logging and tracking of issues.
  • Participate in technical planning, estimation, and execution of project work.
  • Design and document novel, robust test methodologies and provide recommendations for product or design improvements.
  • Promote effective communication within and across teams to ensure alignment, engagement, and efficient execution.
  • Analyze post-verification design changes to determine appropriate regression testing scope.
  • Provide technical mentoring, guidance, and consulting to early-career engineers within the design verification team.
  • Ensure adherence to quality policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
