Tech Lead IAM (Identity and Access Management)

Job Title: Tech Lead – Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Location: Noida/Pune/Ahmedabad
Experience Level: 8+ Years

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tech Lead to guide a team in designing, implementing, and supporting modern Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in authentication and authorization frameworks and play a pivotal role in securing our systems through robust IAM strategies. The role requires hands-on experience with Duende IdentityServer (v6 and v4), cloud identity platforms, and strong collaboration with cross-functional global teams, particularly with senior architects and engineering stakeholders in the US.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years of overall software development experience with at least 4+ years in IAM.
  • Expertise in Duende IdentityServer (v6/v4) or any other IDM server, .NET Core, and modern authentication protocols. Python is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT, and related standards.
  • Experience with cloud-native IAM services (Azure AD, Okta, AWS Cognito, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) as it applies to IAM.
  • Familiarity with serverless architecture design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of directory services (LDAP, Active Directory) and federation protocols.
  • Proficient in scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) to automate IAM workflows.
  • Experience with tools like Keycloak, ForgeRock, or Ping Identity is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to negotiate and align technical approaches with client architects.
  • Strong documentation and system design skills using tools like Visio, Draw.io, or Lucidchart.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Okta Certified Professional, or CISSP.
  • Experience in regulated industries (Healthcare, Finance, etc.) is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with distributed global teams and agile methodologies.

 

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a technical team responsible for IAM implementation and support activities.
  • Work closely with Architect to Design, and develop scalable IAM solutions using Duende IdentityServer v6/v4.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization protocols including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
  • Configure and manage Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across multiple applications and identity providers.
  • Define and enforce Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) frameworks.
  • Automate identity lifecycle processes using tools such as Azure AD Connect, Okta Workflows, or similar.
  • Ensure systems adhere to GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA, and other relevant compliance and security standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex authentication and access issues in collaboration with support teams.
  • Maintain and evolve cloud-native IAM solutions across AWS.
  • Collaborate with enterprise Architecture, Security, and DevOps teams to align IAM solutions with organizational security strategy.
  • Drive documentation and knowledge sharing around identity governance, policies, and architecture.
  • Excellend communicaiton skills to present and defend architectural decisions to client stakeholders, demonstrating both technical depth and business understanding.
