Description

We are seeking a proactive and technically strong Project Manager / Engineering Manager to lead a cross-functional scrum team focused on scaling and modernizing a data contextualization platform. This platform plays a foundational role in linking industrial data from diverse sources into a unified knowledge graph, enabling critical use cases such as entity resolution, asset matching, and data orchestration at scale.

As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for driving technical delivery, managing a team of backend and frontend engineers, and ensuring successful collaboration with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders. Your leadership will be critical in executing a high-visibility roadmap with ambitious quality and performance targets.

About the product: The contextualization platform enables large-scale data integration and entity matching across heterogeneous sources. The current engineering focus is to modernize the architecture for better scalability and orchestration compatibility, refactor core services, and lay the foundation for future AI-based enhancements. This is a pivotal development initiative with clear roadmap milestones and direct alignment with a multi-year digital transformation strategy.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2+ years in an engineering management or tech lead role.
  • Fluent English.
  • Solid technical background with hands-on experience in backend engineering (e.g., Kotlin, Python, or Java).
  • Proven ability to lead distributed agile teams in delivering high-quality, scalable backend services.
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform), microservices, and REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, blob storage, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills; able to drive performance and alignment across a cross-functional setup.
  • Comfortable managing through ambiguity and working in a fast-paced, evolving product landscape.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers (Kotlin, Python, React) responsible for backend services, APIs, and UI components of the contextualization platform.
  • Own delivery for key milestones, including backend integration with orchestration services and modernization of the platform’s user interface.
  • Coordinate and facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, architecture, QA, and DevOps to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and technical standards.
  • Oversee engineering execution, ensuring adherence to best practices in code quality, testing, and security.
  • Drive technical discovery and risk assessments to inform roadmap planning.
  • Support onboarding, mentoring, performance management, and career development for engineers.
  • Ensure strong documentation and compliance with engineering processes (pull requests, risk reviews, architectural decisions).
  • Maintain transparency and communication with internal stakeholders on progress, blockers, and staffing needs.
