Description

The Information Security Engineer is responsible for safeguarding the organization’s information assets by developing, implementing, and maintaining security systems and practices. This role focuses on identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and strengthening the organization’s overall security posture. The ideal candidate will be skilled in both proactive defense and reactive incident response.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
3–7 years of experience in information security engineering or related roles.
Strong understanding of network protocols, system administration, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with SIEM and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar, CrowdStrike).
Familiarity with vulnerability management and endpoint detection solutions.
Knowledge of scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC preferred.

Job responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and encryption tools.
Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events and alerts from multiple sources.
Conduct vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and risk assessments across systems and applications.
Implement and maintain identity and access management (IAM) solutions and enforce least privilege principles.
Develop, test, and refine incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.
Collaborate with IT, compliance, and audit teams to ensure alignment with internal controls and industry standards.
Maintain compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
Provide technical guidance and training on information security best practices.
Research and recommend new security technologies and processes.
Document all security configurations, policies, and procedures.
