Required:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Privacy, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of relevant security and privacy experience.
  • 3+ years software development or technical quality experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact well with both internal teams and external vendors.
  • Experience with industry security, privacy, and compliance standards.
  • Experience with security and privacy tools.

Desired:

  • Cyber security (CSSLP, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA, etc.) or privacy (CIPP, CIPM, etc.) certifications.

Job responsibilities

About the Role:

The Application Security and Privacy Lead/Manager will be a full-time member of our Application Security and Privacy Team which is currently made up of one application security engineer along with a cross-product group of software engineers, devops engineers, quality engineers and product managers. The Application Security and Privacy Team protects the Imprivata brand and reputation as a trusted security vendor by ensuring Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of Imprivata products and customer data. The team ensures that it easy for prospects and customers to evaluate that Imprivata’s products meet their security requirements and reduces the risk of escaped vulnerabilities that our customers find before we do by changing the security culture, tools, and processes throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.

 

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Lead application security and privacy initiatives and drive security best practices.
  • Manage the application security team (currently 1 dedicated engineer and part time members made up from the product teams) including coaching and mentoring.
  • Stay abreast of application security trends and 0-day vulnerabilities.
  • Implement and manage application security and privacy tools. Become an SME for the tools and work with product teams to ensure tool use and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate regular Application Security and Privacy Team meetings including application security and privacy information sharing and tracking of application security team initiatives.
  • Raise the visibility of application security and privacy through the product organization. This includes metrics collection, analytics, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Increase the overall application security and privacy knowledge in the organization through coordination of training activities such as article distribution, lunch-and-learns and participation in product team security and privacy activities.
  • Participate in the product incident response process, bringing industry expertise and best practices.
  • Participate in the product threat modeling, bringing industry expertise and best practices.
  • Coordinate internal and external penetration testing.
  • Collaborate with corporate security and privacy organizations, managing cross organizational initiatives and issues.
