You will act as the interface between our Japanese clients’ complex engineering requirements and our offshore software delivery teams. Your goal is to ensure client satisfaction, drive technical alignment, bridge cultural and communication gaps, and identify opportunities to expand our engineering value within the client’s organization.
The ideal candidate is a former embedded engineer or project manager who understands the rigor of the automotive industry (ASPICE, ISO 26262) and possesses the cultural fluency to navigate Japanese business environments while managing remote international teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Native-level Japanese: Ability to conduct high-level business negotiations and technical discussions.
Business-level English: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively with offshore engineering teams.
Experience
7+ years of total experience in the software engineering industry.
Minimum 3 years of experience in the Automotive domain (Embedded software, IVI, ADAS, or Powertrain).
Proven experience working with Offshore/Nearshore development teams (e.g., India, Eastern Europe, Vietnam).
Technical Competencies
Solid understanding of the Automotive Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and V-Model.
Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), A-SPICE, and MISRA.
Understanding of embedded systems concepts (RTOS, CAN/LIN, AUTOSAR, C/C++).
Soft Skills
Deep understanding of Japanese business culture (Omotenashi, consensus building/Nemawashi).
Ability to manage pressure and handle critical delivery situations with composure.
Desired Skills (Nice to Have)
Experience working previously as a „Bridge System Engineer“ (BrSE) or Technical Project Manager.
Existing network/relationships within major Japanese OEMs (Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc.) or major Tier 1s (Denso, Aisin, etc.).
Knowledge of modern automotive trends: Software Defined Vehicle (SDV), Connected Cars, OTA updates, and Cybersecurity (ISO 21434).
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies in an automotive context.
Job Responsibilities
Client Relationship & Strategic Growth
Serve as the lead point of contact for assigned Japanese OEMs and Tier 1 accounts, building long-term, trust-based relationships with engineering managers and R&D directors.
Understand the client’s technical roadmap and business goals to proactively propose relevant software engineering services and solutions.
Identify opportunities for organic growth (upselling/cross-selling) within existing accounts by demonstrating the capabilities of our offshore delivery centers.
Technical & Delivery Alignment
Translate high-level client requirements and „voice of the customer“ into actionable technical directives for the offshore engineering team.
Participate in technical review meetings, ensuring that the software delivered meets the specific quality standards and nuances expected by Japanese clients.
Manage critical escalations, utilizing your engineering background to troubleshoot blockers and communicate technical root causes and resolution plans to the client in Japanese.
Cross-Cultural Bridge Management
Act as the cultural bridge between the Japanese client and the offshore team, mitigating misunderstandings arising from language barriers or differences in working styles.
Facilitate smooth communication flows, ensuring that the offshore team understands the context behind requirements (the „Why“) and the client understands the development constraints (the „How“).
