Description

A Full Stack „Hands-on“ Architect is a senior technical leader who bridges the gap between high-level system design and ground-level execution. Unlike a traditional architect who might only produce diagrams, a „hands-on“ architect spends significant time (often 30–50%) writing core code, building Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and solving the most complex debugging challenges.

Requirements

Required Technical Skills
Front-End: Expert-level React, Next.js, or Angular; State management (Redux/Zustand); Performance optimization (Web Vitals).
Back-End: Java (Spring) or .NET Core; Deep understanding of Concurrency and Async patterns.
Data & Cache: PostgreSQL/MySQL; NoSQL (MongoDB/Cassandra); Distributed Caching (Redis/Memcached).
Cloud & DevOps: AWS/Azure/GCP; Kubernetes (K8s) & Docker; Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Pulumi).
Architecture: Microservices, API Gateways, Service Mesh, Message Queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and OAuth2/OIDC.

Qualifications
Experience: 14+ years in software engineering, with at least 4+ years in an Architect or Staff Engineer role.
Full Cycle Ownership: Proven track record of taking a product from sketch to high-traffic production.
Communication: Ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders (CTO, Product VPs).

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
1. Architectural Leadership
System Design: Design scalable, resilient, and secure end-to-end architectures (Microservices, Event-Driven, or Serverless).
Tech Stack Selection: Evaluate and select the best tools, frameworks, and databases (SQL vs. NoSQL) based on business needs and long-term maintainability.
Standard Setting: Define coding standards, API contracts (REST/GraphQL), and CI/CD best practices to be followed by the entire engineering org.
2. Hands-on Engineering (The „Hands-on“ Part)
Core Implementation: Write „clean,“ production-ready code for critical path components and shared libraries.
Prototyping: Build PoCs to validate new technologies or architectural shifts before full-scale adoption.
Complex Debugging: Act as the „Level 3“ support for the most difficult technical blockers that span multiple layers of the stack.
3. Strategic Oversight & Mentorship
Code Reviews: Conduct deep-dive architectural reviews of pull requests to ensure alignment with the system’s long-term health.
Mentoring: Upskill Senior and Mid-level developers through pair programming and technical workshops.
Roadmapping: Collaborate with Product Managers to align technical debt reduction with feature delivery.
