Requirements

We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js) to join our team in developing market intelligence tools at GlobalLogic. This role focuses on building robust, scalable, and high-performance backend services that power advanced analytics and GenAI-driven features, supporting innovation and delivering tangible business value across the company.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Node.js and backend system architecture, as well as hands-on experience designing and implementing APIs, data processing pipelines, and integrating with AI/ML services. You will work closely with frontend developers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to create reliable and secure systems that help establish our company as a technology leader for current and potential clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in Node.js and TypeScript for backend development, with hands-on experience in building and maintaining scalable, efficient RESTful
• APIs or microservices.
• Strong experience with AWS Cloud Services, such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and other related serverless technologies.
• Practical knowledge of serverless architectures and deployment frameworks such as Serverless Framework , AWS SAM , or AWS CDK .
• Experience with modern backend libraries and frameworks such as Express.js, Fastify, or NestJS.
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming, event-driven design, and message queues (e.g., AWS SQS, SNS).
• Experience writing automated tests (e.g., using Jest, Mocha, or Chai).
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• An exceptionally motivated and self-organized developer with a strong aptitude for innovative and creative problem-solving.
• Clear and “to-the-point” communication style.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Practical experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Prior experience working in agile development environments.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, AWS X-Ray).
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts or exposure to integrating ML models or services (such as AWS SageMaker, Amazon Rekognition, or similar)into applications would be beneficial.
• Experience with Gen AI concepts and tools would be beneficial.

Job responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend services using Node.js (and modern frameworks such as TypeScript, NestJS, or Express).
• Build and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs to support frontend applications
• Integrate with databases, external APIs, and AI/ML services as needed.
• Ensure system performance, scalability, and reliability through efficient architecture and clean code practices.
• Participate in architectural design decisions and contribute to the overall backend strategy of the product.
• Write and maintain technical documentation, including API specs and system design overviews.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and ensure high code quality with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and data scientists to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Continuously evaluate and adopt best practices in backend development, performance optimization, and security.
