Description

The contextualization platform enables large-scale data integration and entity matching across heterogeneous sources. The current engineering focus is to modernize the architecture for better scalability and orchestration compatibility, refactor core services, and lay the foundation for future AI-based enhancements. This is a pivotal development initiative with clear roadmap milestones and direct alignment with a multi-year digital transformation strategy.

We are seeking a skilled Senior Performance Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, stability, and reliability of our cutting-edge SaaS products. You will take the lead in designing and executing comprehensive performance and load tests, identifying potential bottlenecks, and providing actionable recommendations for optimization. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to embed performance considerations throughout the development lifecycle and to uphold best practices in system performance. If you are passionate about pushing systems to their limits and ensuring they perform optimally under pressure, this role is for you.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Fluent English.
  • 3-5 years of dedicated, hands-on experience in performance testing and engineering, ideally within SaaS or cloud-based environments.

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficiency in industry-standard performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, BlazeMeter, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and associated tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Solid programming/scripting skills in languages such as Java or Python.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) from a performance analysis perspective.
  • Familiarity with analyzing performance metrics using monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, or similar).
  • Good understanding of system architecture, web services, APIs, and microservices.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, agile team.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience:

  • Experience working in Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with testing large-scale distributed systems and handling high volumes of data.
  • Experience working with global, distributed teams.

Technical Expertise:

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their performance-related services.
  • Familiarity with frontend performance testing and tools.
  • Knowledge of React and JSON, particularly for test data preparation and API performance testing.
  • Understanding of network protocols and their impact on performance.
  • Experience with chaos engineering principles and practices.

Job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute performance and load tests to validate system scalability, stability, and reliability.
  • Identify, analyze, and meticulously report performance bottlenecks, providing clear and actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain robust testing frameworks, automation scripts, and tools to support continuous performance testing efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to understand system architecture, identify performance requirements, and guide performance testing strategies.
  • Monitor system performance in production environments and support root cause analysis for any performance-related issues or incidents.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on performance optimization, sharing best practices through comprehensive documentation, training sessions, and technical discussions.
  • Contribute to the definition of performance metrics and SLOs/SLAs for various components and services.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques in performance engineering and testing.
